ITA. By January or February, everything gets dirty & gross. At that point I've had enough & start to yell out delusional plans to move to AZ.

Really? Is it a big fabulous bathroom? Do you sing there?

Phoenix? My friends just moved there in May. I miss them. I'll move too!

My brother's in Yuma. It's too desolate for me, though. If I moved, I'd go to VA. I love it there. Yeah, I know, they still get some snow. But not as much or as often.

I suspect it is not a little, crummy bathroom.

I agree that it's very pretty to watch. When I was still up north, I shared a corner office at work. Our office backed up to a forest. It was beautiful when it snowed, and the deer would often come out of the woods and right up to our building. Since we were on the 3rd floor, we'd have to crain our necks to see them when they came that close. But people with first floor offices would occasionally have deer come right up to their window. I do miss that part!

But I hate going out in the snow, and particulary, driving in it. I'd love to go to a ski lodge, though, and just hang out inside the lodge drinking hot cider in front a big fireplace, and looking out at the scenery. Couldn't get me on the slopes, though. In addition to hating to go out in the snow and cold, I'm afraid of heights!

Maybe it has to do with age. It seems to me like everything is going by so damned quickly lately.
Yep, it sure does! It's even worse if you have kids. Time has flown by even faster since my son was born.

Quote:
That's so odd! Well, actually, I'm odd because I like the winter and it's spring that depresses me. Once the days start getting longer, I get sad for some reason. I can't explain it.
You're at least the 2nd person in this thread that feels that way! I am totally the opposite. I get depressed when the days start getting noticably shorter. My mom's even worse than me... on the longest day of the year, she gets depressed because she knows the days are going to start getting shorter. Even though you can't notice it for a couple months. I think it's the Italian in her!

Quote:
Yes! That bitch wife needs to hit the high road, I cannot stand her. And Dempsey pisses me off. Hello, you're an asshole. You cavorted around without ever telling Merdeith that you were married and then you tease her with "I can't do this." Pfffft.
His character has been an a$$ this season. He's been so wishy washy. It's obvious he doesn't really love his wife any more. I don't understand why he seems to feel some sense of loyalty towards her... once she cheated on him, that loyalty should have flown out the window! And he was so bitter towards her when she came to Seattle... but all of a sudden, a few weeks later, he decides to try and make the marriage work? Of course, we all know he and Meredith will get back together eventually. But the writers have to string us along forever. That scene in the elevator was painful to watch. You could feel the sexual tension, and I really thought he'd give in. But the d*ck says "I can't do this" and walks out! WTF is that?! I have to admit, though, that I rewound and watched that part again. The tension was palpable!

Yes, it's big and fabulous. I redid it for her, it had better be. Ripped off all of her fugly wallpaper and replaced it with tinted venetian plaster. Then I 86'ed the shower curtain and installed new sliding glass doors where she had removed the old ones. I'm actually jealous of that bathroom now. And no, I haven't sung in it. Yet.

there is an alternate version of Seasonal Affective Disorder, I am the exact opposite, I prefer the cold grey days of winter (I am usually more upbeat/positive in the wintertime) over the depressing bright sunny hot summertime (Which is when I am usually ill...Never ill in the cold seasons.).

Sooner it is grey outside the better (At least with the current 40 temp with 50MPH North winds I can easily breathe.)

I'd thought about getting one of those light boxes when I was still up north. If you do it, let me know how it works. Even though I'm not up north any more, I'd still be interested to know if it works.

I also watched Grey's Anatomy and agree with Diss' sentiments on that one. That wife beyotch has got to go. I mean, McDreamy pretends he's not on the ferry with her but he cannot go forward with the divorce?
Yeah, I agree. The storyline has become pretty unrealistic to me. I believe the writers will continue to stretch this out for as long as possible. Unfortunately, many of us may lose interest by the time they get McDreamy and Meredith back together.

Quote:
Meredith's hair looked better this episode, they usually have it all mousy looking adding to her "patheticness". I don't want them to make her pathetic. She should go through a makeover like that character on Scrubs. Then she can strut around the hospital like she owns it.
I agree with the makeover thing! I think they need to give her a new look AND a new man, and let her forget about McDreamy for a while! Make him eat his heart out!

How about the preemptive hysterectomy/double mastectomy? That was a scary story line.
Yes, that was so sad. I really couldn't blame her, though, and I thought the husband was being a bit of a jerk. I'm sure no woman would take a thing like that lightly. I didn't think hubby was going to show before her surgery.

ACK! The lady who owned my house before me had wallpaper EVERYWHERE! Bathroom, bedrooms, hallways - ugh! A layer of early 1980's over a layer of 1950's in every room - what a bitch to get down.

I loathe wallpaper. With the exception of a border in my living room (I usually don't like border either - it took me 2 months & several trips to 5 different stores to find one I liked) there is no wallpaper in my house anymore - I've either covered or removed it. I'm on the last room - thinking of doing the Venetian plaster actually, since the walls are not in the best shape.

Blech. Wallpaper is heinous. I was grateful that her wallpaper practically came right off because I was not ready to haul out the steam machine to remove that ****. And do you notice that people choose to apply the fugliest wallpaper known to mankind in their homes? I don't get it. Your home should be pleasing to look at.

I do some kick ass venetian plaster treatments. Five coats and then I finish it off with wax; I don't take the easy way out and spray shellack on it like a lot of others do (mostly because it looks like utter ****). I was going to originally do straw walls in her bathroom but my fan broke and I did the plaster instead. Plus, I didn't want to do all that work at the time and I'm picky about joint compound; a lot of the **** they sell dries like crap.

I should upload some pics of my house when I first bought it - scary sh*t, my friend. We bought it in 2000 from an 85 year old woman who had been widowed since 1975. It's been a looooooong work in progress.

By straw walls do you mean actual straw? In a bathroom?
