Sorry, I was thinking too big, although I *was* imagining a shabby if once-elegant hotel. I guess there really aren't any of those anymore. I actually have no idea how many people show up at a gathering like this - have never been to one.

Here is a beautiful venue in the City, above Cafe Du Nord. I suppose it would be too expensive, and too large.

If the group is , like, ten people, the Buddha bar is a fun dive.

That is a swanky and cool place. I can't imagine there would be enough people for it unless someone is ambitious enough to produce another NOTS.

Morning beer. So ghetto.

Speaking of ghetto, I bought some Corona light, god knows why, and it made me violently ill Wednesday night. I just figured out it was the beer last night when I had half a bottle and was instantly miserable again. Hating.

Oh, indeed, the hair. Good god, it gets bigger by the day. It'll be a friggin' fro if I am not careful.

It must have been a bad batch. I have a sensitive stomach when it comes to any bugs. It is cast iron when it comes to good tequila and spicy food. But, a touch of bacteria, and I am screwed.

Did just you hear that over a dozen people died in India from contaminated booze and almost 70 are in the hospital after drinking it?

anyways, sorry about that.

And, I really think we should have the thing at the bar by my house. They have a screen, a dancefloor, it's just about the right size, there's parking, it's easy to find, it's already a gay bar, and they might actually let us do an event. Karaoke girl would probably work it, too - though she now hates me. But I could still get her to do it. (by asking my friend Khrista to ask her... ) Oh, and it won't be quite as cold. Plus, we might not have to reserve it, and still cool people would come who like Stevie/Mac - I'd just flyer a bit, and voila.

You just want to get ripped and be able to walk home.

No. No lemon. I dumped the rest of that crapola down the drain, Frank.

BTW I am at a theatrical rehearsal right now and the director has been screeching like a banshee. It always makes actors really coooperate.

Tell him that Luffoon is not the kind of chick whose bad side he wants to be on. Celestia just might return and cut a bitch.

Of course I haven't heard that. Now that I have a bunch of new music I don't even listen to NPR in my truck. I have no idea what is going on in the world.

Oh, I hate theatre. I think it's a dead elitist art form and boring as hell to boot. But it's a benefit and I am doing a friend a favor. You know I have such a big heart.

Actually, of course it would be great to get drunk and ride my bike home, but I actually think it's a good and easy place.
I mean, i understand that some people want a whole SF adventure, but if we're at a Mac/Stevie shindig, we'll just be mostly inside the bar anyways, at least that one night. It's true I don't think the city is very convenient, though. Tons of stuff is far apart, it's a bitch to park and drive in, it's freezing, and it's not especially friendly, IMO. Plus, it seems like it would be hard to engineer something there. Who here actually lives in the city? Only BombaySaphire3. It also seems like it might be harder to get a place in the city to let us set something like this up. (maybe not, though). Probably it will definitely be more expensive.
Anyway - no big, if someone can work it good. I don't think I'll be able to, but hey, I'm no party planner. Also, did you guys notice, for Travis's DC party, he's not closing the venue down just for the event.

Just kidding about the short trip, but it would never hurt. I am down wherever it is. All bueno.

I used to work at the Ren Faire, and "Beer for breakfaaaast"was one of the things we would holler at the ale stand.
I hope it was cold beer.
