I lived in Michigan at the time she did this show. My parents wouldn't let me go to Detroit to see it. I was 16, but it was too far to go alone, and they wouldn't take me.

That is funny!

The best show from that year, in my really humble opinion, is the Concord Pavilion (Concord CA) show.

That show just seemed to be light years ahead of all the others: more exciting, more committed, more passionate, more stirring, more dramatic, more beautifully played & sung.

Probably because it was filmed. She always puts a little more into it when the cameras are rolling, it seems.

OMG I was just listening to a random live version of TKOL this morning and she mumbles something at the beginning and I was having the hardest time figuring out what she said but that's it! That's the version I have. Now I HAVE to go back and listen. How cute is that! But it doesn't sound like it was unintentional if she said "In San Francisco they might say.."

I still love TKOL. It's a beautiful love song. I'm really disappointed that fans don't like it more. I'll admit the lyrics are a bit trite at times but the music in the verses is really beautiful and there are some great lines in there. I love the line "great temptations never really die".

Sept.15,1989-Chicago, IL-Poplar Creek (Audience recording)

Oct.6 or 8,1989-Houston, TX-The Summit (FM broadcast)

Oct.20,1989-Mountain View, CA-Shoreline Amphitheatre (Soundboard recording)

Isn't "good show from the OSOTM tour" an oxymoron?

TOSOTM show are actually some of my favorite. I know when I talk to people who saw them live they say she was really out of it but some of the audios are great. You'd never really know she was in a klonipin haze.

Fortunately, I don't know what you're talking about.

"Girl-friiieend" ? Is he Bobby Martin, or Bobby Brown?

Not sure where you were...but the Concord Pavillion show for OSOTM '89 Tour was cancelled. That was the night of the Loma Prieta earthquake. She performed a few days later at Shoreline in Mt. View.
