Yep. If there's anything that would upset Stevie at all IF her peeps filled her in on what goes on here, it would be the *fat* comments, she can't sing, she doesn't move, she *shuffles*, blah, blah, blah. I think discussing her men would probably make her laugh. She'd be "oh you silly people, you don't know the HALF of it"!

IMHO, there is no way in Hell Stevie is reading these messages boards. Whether she "hears" watered down versions of topics, on occassion, is unclear. I think Paula commented awhile back that it appeared that some of our comments and questions were being addressed by Stevie very quickly in interviews, etc. People started saying Waddy was cheating on his wife with Stevie and in the next few weeks she stressed at shows how she had "known him since 1971" and that she "views him as a brother". There were a few other things as well, like the Rhiannon movie. Maybe they were just coincidence. I dunno.
Yes - THANK you - BINGO!

That really doesn't get me off. The problem is that definitions of "hateful" or even "inappropriate" seem to vary from person to person.
Well said.

With all due respect, alot of the backlash comes in the presentation of the knowledge Also, just saying you know something is cool, but people have a right to ask how. That is usually when the person with the knowledge gets all upset. It is sort of like a "how dare you question me" kind of thing. I also think that if people are really close to the band, they will say nothing as I am sure the band would want it that way. So, there are lots of factors at play in this. But, I agree, if you know something and do not want to be questioned on how you know it, it is better off not to say it.

I was new here not that long ago and I got raked over the coals and then toasted again for extra crispiness. Don't want to see you get in over your head or the same thing to happen to you. Like I said, if you know it, that's good enough. Just friendly advice.

I will relax in the comfort of someone else's home and look it up. Or I will stop everybody I see on the street and ask until I get a straight answer. Sounds wild! I learned about snowballing on the ledge, so why not this too?

Agreed. Someone posted on one of the funeral threads not too long ago about some of the details of the service. I believe someone asked how she knew; she answered without going into a lot of detail, end of story. So while people surely tend to jump on those who claim to be close to the band, I don't think it's quite the snake pit that lagringader&r described.
