Terribley boring show - the audience looked like they were about to fall asleep.

Gwen was good, but I hate the song. Maybe it will grow on me.

I missed Anna, I flipped to the Bills game for a bit. Shouldn't have bothered, as they were getting their asses kicked again. Anna would have been more entertaining.

Jessica is an awesome singer - when she isn't totally exaggerating every single word & note. She's been doing this for the last year or 2 & it really bugs me, it sounds awful.

The sound was terrible for Bon Jovi, all I could hear was the high harmony (which sounded out of tune.) And what was with John thanking everyone for HIS award, wasn't it for the band?

I like Gretchen, I thought she was good.

PS - Is it me, or was Diana Ross drunk? Seriously, it was like she couldn't even speak. And Nicolette Sheridan - what the hell was SHE on?

I only watched a little bit of the show, but from what I saw I was not impressed. I did see Nicollette Sheridan, and frankly, she looked like a man! Methinks girlfriend has had a little too much plastic surgery. And Paula, ITA with you on Bon Jovi's acceptance speech. I was thinking it was a band award, but he certainly made it sound like a Jon Bon Jovi award.

I'm a huge Alicia Keys fan - LOVED her last nite!

I think Anna Nicole's "influence" last nite was alcohol. And maybe some of Snoop's brownies! I cracked up when Jenny McCarthy made fun of her.

I'm really starting to hate award shows. So boring & the people I want to win don't get an award usually. I mean Usher needs four awards, yeah, really.

I watched until I fell asleep. Liked Lenny & Gwen, & yeah, I'm not liking that song either, but I liked her performance for some reason though I'm really not too into her music.

Anna Nicole, on something, definitely. I actually thought DR looked sober, but maybe that's just me. I don't like either one. JS does over sing if that's what you call it, singing. And OMG, I, too, thought NS looked like a man, though on the show I don't think she does. What the heck did she do to herself? I missed Sheryl getting her awards, but what songs did she them for? She doesn't have any new stuff out, does she? I missed Maroon 5, I really wanted to see them though I don't think they got any award. I hate rap & country, pretty much didn't pay attention to any of this part, though my husband seems to be able to sing along to most of the country songs, like Gretchen Wilson, & I'm like "AHA, caught! You've been listening to country music in your truck!" To which he admits it, & then admits he likes country music & would like to go to country music concerts. And, & I'm like, "You must be crazy, I couldn't stand it!" And he says, "But I go with you to concerts, to see Fleetwood Mac." And I tell him that Mac music is better than country music!

Damn, I missed that - but did you see Sheryl watching Jessica, looking very bored, and then look around at the walls & stuff?

NS DID look like a man, she scared the crap out of me. And I don't think Diana Ross looked drunk, but she sure as hell sounded like it. Nothing she said made ANY sense - maybe she couldn't read the teleprompter?

Kimmel wasn't terrible, so at least that part was OK.

She won best pop/rock female (I don't understand why Jessica Simpson was even IN that category) and best adult contemporary artist - both for her greatest hits album. No, she didn't perform, but she said she'll have a new album out next year.

wow, i thought these same things! I've never heard Gretchen before, but i liked her. Diana did seem drunk. Nicolette seemed like she needed too much attention, or something. Sheryl Crow looked gorgeous.

Either Diana Ross was drunk or couldn't read the teleprompter. That seems to be a problem with the "older" celebrities. Remember Elizabeth Taylor on the Golden Globes a couple years back? She said "the nominees are..." and opened the envelope. Dick Clark caught her just in time. I thought it was so funny! I'd love to see Stevie up there.

I have a feeling you're all gonna flame me here but I'm convinced Gwen was lip-syncing. I'm sure I saw the mic away from her mouth whilst hearing her vocal. I'm sorry but I must point it out since no one else has for once.

Anna Nicole was sadly the highlight of the night. Hilarious. That and when Sheryl thanked Jimmy Iovine because I was like "ooooo a Stevie reference!"

I was hoping for a Memorium (sad music, old pictures

), the highlight of many crappy award shows for me, but the AMA's clearly have 0 class when it comes to remembering the dead and much more talented performers.

They sucked! Bring on the Daytime Emmys!

I did not watch the show. I did hear an audio of ANS, however.

She sounded like she just had oral surgery. I can only imagine what she must have looked like.

Wow. A greatest hits album won out both categories? That's a sad commentary on the current state of pop music.

Well, the AMA's are all about sales. That's it. Soundscan results. Whoever sells the most albums wins. So, when you see Usher win his first award, and he's up against the same people in other categories, you already know he's gonna win. They're lame!
