You see, it's obviously known at work that I'm a widow. I think some, not all, people associate that status with having money. A few months ago, I let my supervisor know that I was going to Best Buy on lunch, and I may be a little longer then usual, which was no big deal. We can take long lunches if we wish, I just like to let it be known I'll be gone for a bit. I was going to buy the Fleetwood Mac remaster CD's. She, just being nosey, which really was no big deal to me, asked what I was buying. Me, knowing they think I'm slightly off with my FM obsession, told her she probably didn't want to know, just to avoid the hassle of hearing "don't you have enough of their stuff...." She blurted out, rather sarcastically, "Boy, I wish I had your money." I have never shared anything to her or anyone else what my late husband left me. That is NONE of their business. Anyhow, I've heard that comment more then once from her. I let it roll off my back. But really... c'mon, that is about the rudest thing a person could say to a widow.

That's horrible! It's pitiful. In this case you might want to choose the aforementioned option b. You've got a case of raging jealousy going on there against you.

Jason, exactly what kind of lawyer are you? I mean, do you do criminal, civil, taxes, estates?

What do you do?

Ya, today, I sat there with my headphones on and did my work. I'm completely done with 'em.

I'm starting at a new job Wednesday, so I have no idea if they're assholes or not :lol
Had to deal with (sexual) harassment on my last job, that was nót fun. The guy still hates me because I was the first woman there to actually go to the boss etc... and a female colleague thought I was overreacting. Thanks for your support... She had gone through the same thing with him, but her way of dealing with that was to act as if nothing happened!

Do I work with a$$holes?
Yes, I do. I never should have taken this bleaching job...err, teaching job.

Actually, my workplace is mixed. Anybody who has worked in a school will tell you that a book can be written about any given day. Some of my co-workers are bad, some are good. I went out with several last night and will be seeing others tonight. I get along with everyone but there are a few who just shouldn't be where they are, and seven people were let go for next year, most of whom should not have been. Yesterday was commencement. In private TPTB asked the Dean of Students, who is being let go by assholes after thirteen years of service and a good performance, if they could publicly present him with an award in recognition of his years of service. He replied "You have the balls to fire me and then give me an award? Are you out of your f***in' mind? Sure, go ahead."
Of course, most of the a$$holes are the parents, though most of the parents are not a$$holes. Every year you deal with nut cases, and in this case, rich nut cases.
If I could find the money and have the same level of authority elsewhere, I'd probably be there. But as schools go, this isn't bad.

You thought right.
Aren't you the one who posted that topic originally? (If you're not sure, check back on your correspondence with Lara Flynn Boyle's attorneys.)

Arrow Mari..

Sorry to hear about your situation.

I have to say tho, that I've found that more WOMEN talk filthy and dirty on the job than men. That may not be the case everywhere, I realize, but in all my jobs, it was the women I worked with who told the dirty jokes, stories, etc. I was kinda shocked, really. There have been smarmy guys too tho, but I've worked with some really great guys too.

I'm no prude when it comes to stuff, but there is a line. I don't need to hear about people's personal lives, if ya know what I mean. Bleh. LOL

It was your choice to work on bums' bums, I suppose.

thank you
I don't mind some dirty talk either , I guess the way it's said matters a lot. This guy was the type that would stand behind you and put his hands on your sides, stuff like that. And remarks about what kind of underwear women were wearing! Not funny at all, even if it wasn't about you.

I think ALL offices have dirty talk and jokes. LOL I remember that guy (in New York?) getting fired for talking about a Seinfeld episode...the Dolores (my mom's name, BTW. LOL!!!) one. Some lady got offended and got him fired.

Mr. Wandering-Hands. Ew. That's icky.

Not work related, but I was at the mall once and got on the escalator, this teenager comes RIGHT up behind me, rubs up all on me and I turned around and went, "Get your hands off me!!" I wished I had pushed him down the escalator and watched him fall....neverending. *insert evil laugh here* LOL
