I didn't like SB at first, it took me a while to like it. In fact, besides Gypsy, I was king of dissapointed with her 2 other songs. I felt they didn't have the power, or quality, of GDW or Landslide for example. At the end I like all her Mirage songs, and are far superior than WISYA or The Second Time. But I still felt she could have done better to accompany Gypsy.

Here's a rehearsal live version. Sounds like she and Christine are trying to make this presentable. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gpbWVVbJdWE

Straight Back is amazing. I just dont get how anyone could not like this song. Its very Stevie in writing style. It does share something with Gypsy. It does not have a traditional pop song chorus. Its too deep for that. She also explodes vocally like Gypsy. Straight Back is one of my favorite Nicks Mac songs. The lyrics are so cool, Chris is backing which is rare and the keyboard and guitar playing around each other. Its Ray Lindsey on acoustic guitar too.
People hate Sugar Daddy and Straight Back? Where is my block button! Fingers find the ivory keys and a song begins to begin like a wolf on the run And you will find something in wind that you lost The dream was never over, no The dream was only lost She remembers how good it can be He remembers a melody In the shadow of my shadow.......in a gleam Come on now, it does not get any better than that

Well, none of her songs are the worst on any album—except Skies the Limit, which repulses me.

Blue Letter — I almost listed that. Sisters of the Moon — never liked the album version, which sounds unfulfilled in a way the 79 and 82 concert versions don’t. Live in Store? What?! Really? I totes dig that ditty. |

I do have to say, though, that Crystal is one of my all time favorite songs, due in large part to Lindsey’s beautiful vocal. It’s such a Stevie song, and most people would expect to hear her voice on it, so hearing the guy who sang GYOW, the Chain, I’m So Afraid, etc singing about mountains and crystal like fountains makes for a fascinating juxtaposition. Love the accapella intro. |

Sugar Daddy
Oh Daddy- hmmm, maybe I have daddy issues? The Ledge/Walk a Thin Line/Not That Funny- all three are one big pile of crap. Oh Diane- literally sounds like Lindsey modulated his voice to sound like Christine. Family Man- probably my least favorite FM song ever; however, since I doubt anyone else in FM played on it, maybe it shouldn’t count as a FM song? Probably the same thing with those three songs from Tusk, too. |

I feel that far more in Don't Stop.
