The following is from a new Dave Stewart interview courtesy of ethrill.net (http://ethrill.net/2010/05/19/the-bu...part-2-of-2/):

If I understood correctly you are also working on two solo albums, one in English, one in French and one album with a bunch of super famous friends…
Quote:
I’ve been working on a French one for ages but I don’t speak French well enough to write poetic translations of my words so I was doing that with Carla Bruni but she got married to the president of France and got quite busy so I’ve got about three quarters made. I have been doing duets with different artists, that’s why we are going to Greece, we are shooting the video for the Anna Vissi duet and then I’m gonna play it live with her on their version of the sort of „MTV Awards“, the „Balkan Music Awards“ or something like that. And I’ve also just done a duet with Stevie Nicks. But these are all songs I’m just writing or co-writing with other people, and at the same time I’m always recording little sessions of songs myself, building up to having enough for a solo thing, but … it’s all getting a bit busy.
Now before any of you doubters go crazy, Dave is referring specifically to his upcoming solo projects, one of which might feature a duet with Stevie (or perhaps won't as he has mentioned above). I assume Dave's duet album will be quite separate from Stevie's solo album that he is producing. He is already on record stating that they are working on her solo album and that six songs have been recorded (I imagine completed) so perhaps their duet will be on her album as opposed to his solo project which actually seems rather vague and indefinite. Sessions for Stevie's album resume in June so don't anyone lose heart - her solo album will be made.

So if I understand correctly:
- they definitely recorded a duet for his album (maybe Everybody Loves You was intended for his album and not Stevie's?)
- he's is possibly still working with Stevie and producing her solo album (I believe it when I hear it from Stevie's mouth)

Yeah, this is still so vague to me Hopefully Stevie or someone in her camp will clear this up very soon!

By Dave himself in another radio interview with the BBC.

Reading Lori's facebook she said that she's in L.A. recording for the next 2-3 months...So I'm guessing that its with Stevie.

Knowing Stevie it is probably June 2011.

When did she actually write that. Because according to Dave, the thing should be done in June.

Sanne2, my understanding of Dave's comments is that he was (and perhaps still is) intending to make an album in collaboration with others ("I have been doing duets with different artists... And I’ve also just done a duet with Stevie Nicks") which the interviewer referred to as being an "album with a bunch of super famous friends".

However, I think what Dave is attempting to say, in his usual vague and round-about way, is that he is working with an array of artists and that whatever comes of these collaborations is not yet certain. For example, the "songs (Dave is) writing or co-writing with other people" could be for other projects and that "at the same time (he is) always recording little sessions of songs myself, building up to having enough for a solo thing", for himself. He seems to be drawing a distinction between at least some of the collaborations and the songs he is writing on his own which would indicate that not all the "duets" will be for his album. We already know that he has stated that he is producing an album for Stevie so we know that this is yet another (separate) project for him. Dave himself seems a little confused about how all these various collaborations/projects will come together when he states "... it’s all getting a bit busy".

With regard to the duet Dave and Stevie have recorded (most likely "Everybody Loves You"), I think this may have started out as a possible inclusion for his solo duets project but now might end up on Stevie's solo album and perhaps was the impetus for them continuing to work together on a whole album (of Stevie's). Regardless of whether he keeps this track for his own album or not, Stevie's solo album is definitely progressing with him at the helm.

Dave's voice was on that song, but it hardly sounded like a duet. I bet it goes on Stevie's album. If you listen to lyrics, it's a song about her life, not his. I take that both artists really like the song, and I agree that it probably caused them to work together more.
