Okay! We'll 1) legalize gay marriage, 2) abolish the death penalty, 3) make the wealthy pay higher taxes, 5) nationalize health care, and 5) force Stevie to rack her brains and somehow remember what the hell she was saying in "Seven Wonders"

My time in office will be fun!

Who wants to be my vice pres?

I also think she would never take such a position, though I think she would be fab in it, because the Justices tend to keep out of the public eye and for good reason.

The way I look at it, whomever they nominate can't be much more conservative than Rehnquist. OTOH, he does seem to have stong convictions about free speech issues which is especially important in our current political climate. So I am worried about that.
As for the deal that was made For Pryor, Rogers Brown and Owens, I agree that right now it looks as though that dashed Frist's presidential fantasies. One would almost have to wonder if he wasn't set up to make way for someone else.
I still wouldn't put it past the R's to try and break that deal.

I agree - of course I have a great nominee Sadly, those tapes from my South American holiday in college may prevent any confirmation

Actually, she would be an excellent candidate further down the road if the was a Dem in office to nominate her.
I don't know if a Senator ever sat on the SC though.

It just aggravates me to no end that people actually believe that anyone should pay anything over 20% (social security, medicare, income, etc.) TOTAL in tax. I think the proper method is to scrutinze govt. contracts and get rid of the minority business that really isn't getting the contract for five times the cost, the $50 hammer, the pork barrell committees, etc. But, no one really wants to do that. It is always "screw the rich they can afford it and are inherently evil anyway"

Note - rant not directed at Hillary

I'd happily pay more taxes.

I sometimes feel guilty when I get 10 grand or more refund every year. Not too guilty though.

Wouldn't she have to sit on the lower courts for quite some time to even be considered? I wouldn't think she would want to start a new career at this point.
