Mandisa was the best, by far. Kinnik and Ayla/Melissa will probably go. Simon is right about Kellie. She isn't the greatest singer, but will stick around because of her looks and personality.

I am almost to the point that I can't watch Kellie Pickler-- she is SO full of sh*t. I think she is desperate to have a "schtick" because she really isn't that great of a singer. Unfortunately for me, she will probably be on this damn show for the rest of the season.

honestly, I'm bored with the whole show, except for Chris and Ace. the people on this show really aren't anything special. Mandisa is great, but I noticed last night that I could pick up on something missing in her voice...she's belting, that's for sure, but it seems like she has a limited range or something...I don't know what it is, but there's a lack of something there. The rest of the girls can eat it, as far as I'm concerned. Some are better than others, but none are worthy of a title like AI, imo. It's just a bad season. I don't see anyone being consistent.

Mandisa: LOVE HER!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kelly: I can't believe Simon said he preferred her over Carrie Underwood.

She does how more personality than Carrie did, that's for sure.
Ayla: I can take her, or leave her. Nothing Special. I did enjoy her performance last night, though.

Lisa: BORING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want her to go home and fast. Her song choices are hideous.
Paris: Don't like her. She had a lot of talk for someone who really doesn't stand out.
Katherine: Big whoop. Great voice. Boring as hell.
Melissa: I like her. American should give her a chance and vote her through....(only to be dumped in finals week #1)

I like her too and I'd like to see what else she can do. Her confidence and pep need to pick up tho. One thing that I think about is how strained her voice already sounds (or maybe that's just how it sounds) - how is she going to be able to stand the rest of the competition, tour and all that if she wins?

and I'm noticing too that Paris isn't standing out to me anymore.

Katherine sucks. I can't stand her. Ayla, poor thing, looked like a damn praying mantis on that stage - she's just SO out of place. Lisa is way boring. She kind of favors Aaliyah, but girl needs to pick songs that don't make me want to kill myself. Kelly's ok. I don't really care one way or the other.

I think Melissa (she's the one who sang Heart right?) has a cool, gravely voice. I like it. I also thought she did a good job with What About Love, which is a hard one to sing---not just anyone can pull it off, the vocals are brutal, so I give her props for attempting it and doing a good job.

Mandisa was outstanding again! I love her, and think she has the best personality out of each and every one of those other girls. Kellie Pickler is getting on my last nerve too Jannie, she has actually become grating. What she doesn't realize, while creating an image for herself, is that she's turning off quite a few people who see right through her dumb, southern blonde schtick and think it's stupid. When she said she had smoked salmon for the first time I was like

give me a break. Yeah, YOU never had salmon, sure, right. Ugh.

Looking forward, I wonder what Chris is going to sing tonight? I'm always interested to see/hear his performance. Oh, and little nerd needs to go. I am really starting to loathe him just for the fact that he continues to be voted through.

SaL-mon with the "L" not silent. I couldn't believe she pronounced it like that.

I thought Mandisa was good and I also enjoyed Kelly and Melissa's performances. Kelly and Melissa aren't the best singers but the rest of the girls sing such boring songs that they really are forgettable even though they have good voices.

yup, I'd say so too. I still kind of like Catherine McPhee...I don't know, she has some class to her that the rest don't have (except Mandisa). I think she's the most beautiful of the girls and I like that she doen't look like a bleach-blonde tanning bed junkie. I'm glad she did Aretha last night, but I don't like that song on her!

In fact, I could do without every single one of the girls. Bring on the guys tonight! My faves are still Chris, Elliot and Gedeon. I pray to God that Gedeon makes the final 6 because Kevin and Bucky are gaining a following and I might have to hurt people because of that. I might have to vote for him tonight..hope he brings it! I do like the Hobbit, but he needs to go home. Gedeon is more entertaining.

I really think this is true. I honestly think that some PR person is coaching her to act like an idiot. I think Kellie is shrewd and is working it the best way she knows how. Simon is upsetting me because surely he sees past her bullsh*t? I agree she has more personality than Carrie Underwood (who wouldn't?) but I cringe when I watch her speak. She’s making the South look stupid and I’m tired of her act. I heard somewhere that a restaurant in her hometown is serving Kellie Calamari on their menu. :gag:

I thought Melissa rocked last night, so did Mandisa. I liked Katherine & Kellie too. I must say, I really don't think she's acting. I think she really is that dumb/naive/innocent. And for the record - I didn't try salmon until I was about 28.

I know, that's weird. And he keeps giving Lisa props but criticizing her poor song choices. It's like, first they talk about how talented homegirl is then then sh*t on the songs she performs. Doesn't make sense. I thought she was beyond boring and forgettable, but Simon and Paula keep talking about how talented she is, and how she'll "sail through to the next round," despite the fact that her song choices suck and she's basically just boring up there. The judges should only give comments about the performance at hand, not about how talented someone is, I mean, if certain contestants keep doing sucky boring songs then how does that display their talent? It makes no sense.
