I don't think you're a prude. I agree with you. Drinking like that may seem fun, but it's just not worth the trouble it can cause.

I don't think you're a prude at all. I never quite understood the rush teenagers seem to have to do all of these things. It seems like the more situations they can put themselves in that might end badly, the better. I enjoy socially drinking now but it's really not something I started to do until I was of age and nothing I've ever done in a particular amount of excess. Do teenagers just think they're more grown up or cool because they're too young to drink but are doing it anyway?

Then again, I think that applies to a LOT of choices that young people make before they are of an age to fully understand them or their consequences. Watch a marathon of MTV's 16 and Pregnant and you'll know what I mean. There are WAY too many teenagers who are putting themselves in adult situations before they can handle it simply because it's available to them and they don't think far enough ahead to not do it.

And don't even get me started on smoking. If you're a teenager in this day and age and you start smoking, you're an idiot.

I agree completely. And 95% of my friends smoke. I just don't understand WHY someone would start such a STUPID, expensive, life shortening habit.

I agree. People can do as they please - but I really never understood why ledgies around my age always seem so willing and exciting to share what they did when it was illegal. Yeah, it's all fun - but posting your illegal activity always left me stumped. What are you trying to accomplish...seriously?

wow you are way braver than i am. the last time i was on a plane i drank like a fish and i was still scared. ugh!! i really want to get over my fear but i get soo freaked out that i just cant do it. i think its also because i am a control freak and knowing that some pilot who i have never met is flying the plane i am on really scares me.

There's a mature way to go about things and an immature way to go about things-- and that goes for everything and it definitely applies to drinking, underage or not. I've gotten sick from alcohol ONCE in my life and I've babysat my 21+ friends at bars hundreds of times.

Even if I was scared enough to make them stop the plane and let me off, I could just never do that. I'd be too embarrassed. I can control, and overcome my phobia. I just force myself to do it.

Ya know, though, booze DOES help. I go to Nashville, all the time....and when the weather is nice, I walk from my hotel, to downtown, which involves me crossing a loooooong bridge, high above the Cumberland River. Okay, on the way to the bars, I absolutely HATE crossing the bridge....I'll count things, just to take my mind off of how f*cking high in the air I am. After I leave the bars, and walk back to my hotel, it hardly bothers me. It still does, a little, but it's about 15% as much, as when I hadn't had anything to drink.

Right. There are plenty of mature teenagers, there are plenty of immature teenagers and there are probably a good number of one who think they are the other. If someone is a college freshman and they're getting into a bar every Saturday night with a fake ID and drinking just to the point they can walk home without falling over, one could argue there's a maturity in that because they're not getting ****faced. But, the other side is that the person is three years under drinking age and breaking the law because they want to and they can get away with it. I've always had an issue with the sense of entitlement that people can have and teenagers who are bragging about drinking/having sex/smoking/doing whatever fall right into that category and that's probably why that kind of behavior bugs me as much as it does.

This is true. My other half will turn 40 this coming year, yet I drink way more moderately than he does. I never get so sloppy where my "plane hits the wall," yet Jimmy still does a couple of times a year... and I have to help him to bed. And I'm in my 20s... this is when I'm "supposed" to be wild. Everyone's goes about living their lives differently, for sure. I guess if no one is getting hurt, then that's all that matters.

I work with a guy who's 54. He and his wife have been together for about 30 years. He says he spanks it about twice a week. I asked if his wife no longer wanted to have sex with him. He said she would, if he really tried to get her to, but it's just easier, and quicker, to take matter into his own hand.

I love myself as often as time allows, which is varied. I'd prefer multiple times a day, but more than not, it's only a few times a week these days. The other half isn't thrilled by the whole self-love thing, but I've always needed both yen and yang. Meaning, I have always needed both secks AND self love. So mostly I try and keep my self loving outta his face (ba dum bum! ).

What do I think about in the moment? Toile fabrics mostly, what else?
