CV, he can't sue her for liable if what she wrote is true!

As for the Iraqi Information Minister, Mohammed Saeed Al-Sahaf, better known as MSS...lmao.....!....check out

www.welovetheiraqiinformationminister.com

The site was created last week and since then it's got an average of 4,000 hits a second!! They've even talked about it on CNN and Sky News and some of the newspapers!lol!!

It's HILARIOUS!! They've listed all his funniest quotes!! This is my favourite:

"We are not afraid of the Americans. Allah has condemned them. They are stupid. They are stupid" (dramatic pause) "and they are condemned."

He should do a tour with Jerry Seinfeld! I'd be tempted to give up my FM tickets just to go and see that!

For whatever it's worth, theft of material from a website is illegal. I know this because I once had to deal with a 15-year-old boy who tried to create his own website by copying and pasting material from my site. I was appalled that the kid didn't seem to realize what he'd done was just plain wrong, much less illegal. I finally had to threaten to take him to court before he took his site down.

You'd think that a grownup would know better....but then we *are* referring to "the Knight"......any sense of knightly chivalry be damned, I guess.

Marty, I'd REALLY suggest getting a lawyer to write you a nice "Cease and desist now or you're going to find yourself in court" letter to the basta....er.....gentleman in question. If you do nothing now, you can expect him to continue strip-mining The Penguin in similar fashion or worse.

Once again, I have to say I really am disenchanted with the remainder of the band and their seeming complacency about all this BS and ripping off of their fans being done in their names. They couldn't be bothered, I guess.

Not that I'm bitter or anything.... noooooooo.... not at all....not me! (sarcasm mode off)

I think we should offer MSS a chance at cleaning his slate...Think about it, He is PERFECT for the "Weekend Update" on SNL!!!

Hey seteca, I saved that website in my files last week...the Alamo graphic is classic.

Angry Hmph.

Johnathan Todd is thanked in the SYW album credits. Something tells me the band won't be thanking him much longer. He is responsible for disenchanting a lot of their fans and cheapening their image.

Stephmoore, it's amazing how people don't know plagiarism is wrong. I totally sympathize with you.

LOL, Carne, Seteca is right. Todd would have a really hard time proving in court that he's not rotten scum. So he'd lose his own libel case!

LMAO....I heard about that MSS site last week and got a good laugh. Did anyone see Letterman's Top Ten about that guy?

Not sure how much of a case Marty could build against this guy though. Probably not worth the trouble.

To be blunt, I don't think Fleetwood Mac cares one iota. Not a bit. HOW can they NOT know what's going on? There is no way that they are oblivious to this ****. Yet they continue to allow it all to happen. As long as the money is in the bank accounts, everything is hunky-dory. Oh well. I do hope that Lindsey does give him a swift kick in the ass someday soon though ('cuz you know Lindsey will!).

I'm certain the album covers were stolen too-- I think this is a pretty good example if you look at the markings on the screenshots, they are identical. Penguin discography page is on the left; the one from fleetwodmac.com is on the right. It's more than shameful.

- Marty

PS-- The album cover we have for Then Play On is cut off in The Penguin's discography too. And wouldn't you know it-- it is cut off on fleetwoodmac.com too! What a coincidence!

Marty, his theft from your site is an outrage. You know, he had the nerve to send me a nasty pvt. message about copyright infractions because I posted the tour schedule at Mick's site before he did. That was before he banned me from that sorry site. Can you believe him? A concert tour list copyright material! Now he steals from your site! The nerve of this guy knows no bounds.

I'm sorry I can't agree anymore about the band being blameless in any of the fan club mess. I've believed all along that JT is unethical and shady, but he didn't hire himself. The band is thanking this guy in the cd notes! Wow, I'm sure glad I didn't break down and buy one! I will not buy the cd, I will not go to any shows, and I will be telling everyone I know this band has a lot of nerve singing songs of social commentary about greed and censorship after what they've allowed to happen in their name. They're doing the three monkeys act...see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil. JT does all that on their behalf. I still hold them responsible. Band management knows all about the situation. So does the label and the concert promoter. They've simply weighed the risk of angering a certain finite number of fans against the cash coming in from the ticket sale rip-offs, and figure, it's worth it. I never thought this kind of thing could happen with FM. Well, regardless of who has the power in the studio, I guess Mick's still in charge of business...so what was I thinking?

I like what I've heard at AOL of the cd. I honestly wish I could get behind the band on it, and also get enthused about the tour. I just can't. I still love the music but I don't have a high opinion of the people promoting it, so I will not pay money to support it. Please don't be upset if you disagree. This is just my rant for the week.

Good God, do you know what would happen to you if you did this in a college class? You'd be expelled at the least! I shudder to think what would have happened if someone tried to copyright one of Lindsey's songs that got leaked a few years ago. This is apalling./

The gall being exhibited is utterly astonishing.
They do all they can to distance themselves from the "lowly" fan-sites, and yet they freely use information, etc., they've gleaned from those sites.

Hypocrisy in its most blatant form.

Exclamation FM IN CHICAGO COVER ETC.

It's VERY coincidental that when THAT discography originally showed up on Mick's site that was when we had FMIC in the "official albums" section HERE in the Penguin discography (which of course we have since changed to the "other" albums). It's obvious they have no intention of adding the "other FM albums" to their discography, just the official ones, so it's pretty clear as to WHERE JT went to do his exhaustive research as a "big fan" (yeah right) to find out what he thought were the official FM albums.

By the way, I'm not saying the people here "weren't big fans for having FMIC etc. be in the official discography section here before", I just mean that there's a big difference between "us and them" in that WE have jobs and lives to attend to and get involved with this site when we can and have time, we do it for free as we are big fans, THEY are NOT fans, it is their JOB to "work" on that site...and they have the nerve to say to some that said they won't be going to shows/joining fan clubs there that they "are not fans because they don't spend money they don't have on club fees, concert tix (etc.)." Well, EXCUSE US for paying the bills and not having thousand dollar bills for toilet paper in our bathrooms (as they apparently see no other way of life beyond that).

Gotta agree with this. It's like the old saying about "if someone's gonna rip you off, they're not going to TELL you they're going to rip you off" so I don't expect Mick and co. to hold a press conference and say "OK, we did it, we knew all along etc." Also, if they HAD been upset then if they really wanted to, they could've delayed the release of the album (again, so it wouldn't have been a big deal since we are used to such things by now) and had JT's name removed from the thanks credits and have him fired but it didn't happen, so to me, their silence speak volumes.

Same here, though I know, I've had more than one rant this week so I'll try and cool it for a while. Believe me, I don't like being negative but I'd rather deal in truths when it comes to this kind of thing and it's just how I/we feel and I'm sure we're not alone and I (and I'm sure others that "think like us" too) respect the opinions of the more optimistic of you and we're glad you're happy.

In a strange way, I'm kind of glad all this stuff happened IN A SENSE as it has woken many fans up to a lot of things so they'll be on guard for future similar situations. I don't mean it as a "I told you so/know all" kind of thing and I do feel badly for those of you that got the shaft, but I'm glad more people will be able to smell the BS from miles away now and OK, I admit, I fell into some BS with the Rhino remasters too, so yes, we're all human and hopefully we can all continue to look out for each other like we have been for years without "help" from "official sources".

John
