Fleetwood Mac's new version of Thrown Down - Page 2

Sapphire Blues · #16 12-12-2002, 01:02 PM

I have to admit, I have been playing this song non-stop since I got it. It's just so catchy...and not in a dumb, pop-song way like, say, "Little Lies". The vocal is probably one of the best Stevie has done is quite a long time. Her harmonies during the chorus soar to a level not reached since Twisted. It really surprised me how pleasant and strong her voice is for this performance. There is a tonal quality that is so unique... Take for instance when she sings "again" in "he fell for her again." Blame it on the hole in the nose, but no other vocalist in music today can match that sound!

Though the guitar arrangement bears striking resemblence to The Dance version of "Big Love," Lindsey gets kudos for just pouring into the song. I haven't heard him this vocally compelling on one of Stevie's songs since Frozen Love.

I can't stand the uninvited xmas depression this situation is starting to create in me! All I've done for the last day is check different email addresses and look at demo websites hoping that I'd find Thrown Down. Could someone please write me so we could arrange a swap for some thing via yahoo messenger or something? My addresses are

I just sent an email, too.

This is killing me...

If I had a child I would offer it up to trade...

Thank you Scarlet! You can really tell this is the first time in decades Stevie and Lindsey have fully cooperated in the studio. The song has a haunting quality that has marked so much of Stevie's best work that was not really apparent on the demo.

Hi there,

Would any of you be so kind to mail me Mac´s Thrown Down and any other new songs that get leaked in the near future to:

[email protected]

Of course I´ll buy the album once it is released on cd and hopefully vinyl as well! Would you consider this song to be a serious candidate for the first or second single release?

Thanks so much!
