The Globe Sessions was so great, probably my favorite too. Sheryl Crow was a little funkier but the songs on The Globe Sessions felt more personal and real. Being 14 would've never been the same without it for me, heheh.

totally agree with you that is what i loved so much about the cd. it was more raw and not as slick as her other stuff but yet it was so personal. ahh i was 21 at the time and going to college and that cd got me through some long car rides to and from school everyday. i think i need to get that cd out and listen to it tomorrow at work!

I liked the Globe Sessions. In my opinion it contains her best song ever, The Difficult Kind.

I was a huge fan of Sheryl Crow's first three albums when I was a kid/teenager, I agree she wasn't as original as like a Kate Bush or Bjork of course but she was kinda one of those "right time right place" artists for me. After that though there are only a few songs per album that I really like as much as her early ones. I do like her country side, but the lyrics have to be a little stronger for me.
Well these songs aren't 5 or 6 minutes and they get to the point. They are small and heartfealt and that is what I love about them. I was listening to Ode To Billie Joe the other day and I noticed that Bobbie Gentry never did say why he jumped off the Tallahassee bridge. The song is just about finding out that someone jumped off a bridge. In a small town that is a HUGE thing, but to some poeple that might seem small or thin. Compared to today's half-ass country, these songs are great.

Is her new music getting radio airplay on country or regular radio.I have not tuned in to find out.

Or her new album will go into the radio stations round file like Stevie's IYD CD did in 2011.

Yes, Easy is a decent country hit so far, in the top 20. That's really good. Country is really popular now.
