What was your favorite rock/pop band of the 80s?

R.E.M. gets my vote, too. "Pop" is a funny word, because I'd also list the Replacements, but they were more influential than "popular".

HUGE 80's fanatic. I love all the really alt alternative synth pop 80's. Flying Lizards, EBN/OZN, Kajagoogoo, Real Life (late 80's) Bronski Beat, Scritti Politti, but name it 80's I'm pretty much a fan. My second fav band ever is Siouxsie & The Banshees. Also loved Missing Persons, Romeo Void, Concrete Blonde, Wall of Voodoo, The Cure, Bauhaus, Project P, Reflex (Politics of Dancing is such a great song)...blah, blah blah. I <3 the 80's. lol

Tears For Fears - they released their first three albums in the 80s, and these are nothing but plain perfection - especially "Songs From The Big Chair".

Also Siouxsie And The Banshees - my favourite album is "Tinderbox".
