Yes, it's hilarious. Heck, after hearing them, Warner Bros. demanded one.

I chose Part 2. I always felt it was perfect as the last track of the album. The sound (just the music, not the lyrics) makes me feel like Lindsey's farewell song to the band. The volume gets lower at the end, like he is going away...

![]() I mean I always liked Big Love as the opening song. In fact from many of the FM albums, I thought this time they did match it! Never thought of YAI Part I as the opening song, but yes it's a good one too. More like a Tusk opening song style I guess, but cool anyway. However I think Big Love was a better choose in terms of the 80s sound.

I hated Part 2 for a really long time. In my opinion, it was the worst Fleetwood Mac song right after "Oh Diane".
However, my partner loved it. The song lifted his spirits and made him happy every time he heard it... And - though it took me months (at least) - someplace, somehow I made the strange discovery that I had fallen in love with it too, after all this time. so I prefer it over Part 1, though it is really beautiful, too. |

Went against the majority and voted for Pt 2, although I like both songs. Strangely, "You and I, Pt 2" was the first track I heard from TITN; it was played on my local Top 40 station shortly before the album was released. The DJ didn't identify the artist and my first impression was that it was a catchy, bouncy tune and I was pretty sure (but not certain) that it was a track from the upcoming FM album. Not knowing what to expect from TITN, it sounded radically different than anything FM had done up to that point.
I understand the criticisms of Pt 2 and, in truth, the song didn't wear that well after multiple listens. But I still have a fondness for it since it reminds me of that sneak peek I heard on the radio. I didn't hear Pt 1 at all until about 10 years ago. It's a pleasant song but it feels like a lyric idea that wasn't fully completed, then dressed with glossy production. But I do think it should have been included on TITN, in place of "Caroline" or "Family Man". |
