My favorite B horror film is 'Night of the Demons' (1988). Anyone seen it?

I have so many scary movies on my shelf that I've lost count.

I extended/revised my list. I also re-organized by categories:
I. The Masters
II. The Auteurs
III. Genre Films

I LOVE horror films, although I'm not a huge fan of slasher films. I'd say my favourites are 'Suspiria', 'The Exorcist', 'Rosemary's Baby' and 'Night of the Demon'.

'Hocus Pocus' too, although I guess that's not technically a horror film...
Totally forgot to put The Company of Wolves on my list - it's a brilliant film, really out there!

I actually hate the film adaptation of "The Company of Wolves". Angela Carter's original story is so much better. We were forced to watch the film in English. Bad tiiiimes.

Some of my favourites are
The Mothman Propechies - this one actually really really **** me up but it's just so GOOD
The Others
The Village

Hey! People are picking more than three. For once in my life I followed the rules, and I want others to do the same.

Hell Yeah!

I love all of those 80's flicks!

'Cheerleader Camp'
'The Funhouse'
'Killer Klowns From Outer Space'
'Critters'
'The Return of The Living Dead'
The 'Sleepaway Camp' movies...

Not to mention all the Stephen King movies like..

'Creepshow'
'Christine' ( A little trivia about the 'Mom' in this movie, she actually lived in that infamous 'Amityville' house before that family moved in)
'Pet Sematary'
'Sleepwalkers'

There's so many!!

I've never been into "slasher" movies but I love horror. Here are a few of my favs:

The Exorcist
The Omen
Carrie
Halloween
Black Christmas (just discovered this gem recently)
House of 1,000 Corpses
Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Burnt Offerings (still scares the crap out of me)
Rosemary's Baby
Pet Semetary
Nosferatu (1979 version)

If I had to choose three (one per director):

The Fury (Brian De Palma)
The Birds (Alfred Hitchcock)
Exorcist II: The Heretic (John Boorman)

I found it just disturbing enough that I needed to pause, eat some dinner with ALL THE LIGHTS ON and then I could resume watching it.

Too funny (what did you have for dinner? Meat?). I got really, really worked up when the photographer's girlfriend is searching the Butcher's apartment, including pausing. This coming from someone generally desensitized to horror films.

'Dead Ringer'
'The Nanny'
'The Watcher in the Woods'

Yes! I love it. There is a remake of it that came out recently I believe and it is on instant streaming on Netflix so I've had it in my queue for a few months now, but haven't watched it yet. Have you seen it?
