Psh yes you did! There was quite a bit of discussion about it when there was the thing about best female vocal performances or whatever.
Eh, doesn't matter. The point is yes, I definitely am.

Oh. Okay!

Quick, without looking, list my favorites...from that thread...on another artist's forum...from some time ago. If you can, I will be gobsmacked!

I am glad you like the Mac, they have long been favorites of mine (especially Stevie, but that goes without saying). I think Kate and the Mac have a few things in common, other than the fact that they asked her to tour North America with them and she said no. I think The Dreaming and Tusk have much in common. And that Big Love and Running Up That Hill have perhaps too much in common!

Ugh hmm...Linda Ronstadt keeps coming to mind (I have no idea what song/songs, though). I want to say Black Velvet was on there too. I don't know!
I actually think I had more than one Fleetwood Mac song on my own list, and I ddin't want repeat artists. I believe I justified it by saying "One's sung by Stevie and one's sung by Christine, so it's okay!" Haha whatever. I'm probably remembering this totally wrong.
Yeah, Fleetwood Mac are long time favorites of mine too. I agree that The Dreaming and Tusk have a lot in common - the intensity, insanity, and creativity. Also how they're quite a departure from the albums that preceded them.
I don't know if I'd say that Big Love and RUTH are TOO similar, but yes, they definitely have a lot in common. Great songs both of them.

Ah yes!! it's absolutely my favorite kate bush album and it ranks in my top 5 best albums ever. It doesn't come any weirder...or more brilliant than The Dreaming. "Leave It Open" is utterly fascinating and prob my fav track.

I love hearing the demo version of "Leave It Open" because we have no demos from the NFE era onward, so it's amazing to me to hear a song like that in progress and hear what it sounded like before all of the effects / genius that Kate added.

"The Dreaming" is my favorite Kate album too and definitely in my top 5. I'm loving all of this "The Dreaming" love!

Haha, The Dreaming is also my favorite. Incredible album. I actually have a tattoo on my foot inspired by Night of the Swallow.

"Night of the Swallow" was my first Kate Bush song and a very special one for me.

I didn't know who Kate Bush was, but I did know she'd written that "Pat Benatar song 'Wuthering Heights'," which I'd loved, so I went out to find an album by her. Being in the US, however, I could only find "The Dreaming" (her previous two albums were not released here until later).

I got home and put the needle in the groove (kids, go ask your parents what that means). First the crackle and pop and then...WTF! I was promptly freaked out and scandalized. I was 14. It was $8. I thought it was crap and just unlistenable and I was out $8! Only "Night of the Swallow" seeped in...

...at first.

And then they all came pouring in. They were madness on vinyl. They were weird, but amazing. My brain began to sizzle. I did not sideline my Pat Benatar or Stevie Nicks records by any means, but, well, they did have to move over. Especially when I found out how to import everything else Kate Bush had ever done. If it hadn't been for NOTS (which doesn't stand for "night of a thousand Stevies" in my book), I never would have investigated further.

Thanks, NotS!

Are you saying that you weren't instantly enthralled by the throbbing madness of "Sat in Your Lap?" Although I discovered The Dreaming after wearing the grooves out of Hounds of Love, it was love at first spin. My immediate favorite was the title track, which was the first time I'd ever heard a dijeridooo, and I thought it was the most amazing sound I'd ever heard. And regarding NotS, I would defy any singer today to try and do a cover version of it. Nobody can sing like that- jumping around keys, time signatures and octaves like it was just hop scotch. It baffles me that The Dreaming is like the worst selling Kate album in history when IMHO it is one of the greatest albums ever made. And what's even more baffling is that she was only 23 years old at the time!

I am torn--a part of me recognizes Hounds of Love as the opus, but The Dreaming is probably my favorite. Like if I had to have ONE Kate album with me on a desert island, it would likely be The Dreaming.

"Get Out of My House" is my favorite Kate Bush song.

This clip of Lily is enticing, but I actually always loved TRS version. It's one of two songs on that album that I would yank off for a Kate playlist or something.

ETA: You know what just hit me. If Buckingham Nicks had done Go Insane, there might have been a song on it like Kate Bush's "Get Out of My House"!

"maybe we are together in a parallel universe"... i'd like to visit that parallel universe.

OMG: Kate Bush should join Fleetwood Mac.

Imagine paying $1000 to hear "Don't Dream It's Over" instead of "Go Your Own Way"

Fleetwood Mac helped me through a time of heartbreak. 12 years later, they broke my heart.

Well, she did have the chance to open for them on the Tusk Tour Britain.
I am so upset the video and snippet were taken down. They were awesome!
