Mika is supposed to maybe release something at the end of the year. I love this guy. His debut is a rare perfect album.

My favorite album of the past five years, is by a young country guy named David Nail. It came out about a year or so, ago. He has a new one coming out, soon(hopefully). The last one, called I'm About To Come Alive, is so wonderful. It's mainstream, but there's a sadness in his voice(he has suffered from depression), that it just drags me into it. When I got it, six months ago, I literally had it in my CD player, NONSTOP, for about 3 months. I couldn't stop listening to it. Much like Rumours, I finally wore myself out to it.

There's been no word but I'm really hoping for a new Bonnie Raitt album. It's been 6 years and that's a very long time for her between albums! Oh, and a new Emmylou Harris album would be nice.

FIONA APPLE
And Stevie, of course.
Eric Hutchinson
James Morrison - unannounced but he's working on it and I'm hoping for 2011.
The Cinematics, same story as James - working, but no announced release.

That's all that comes to mind right now.

Lindsey Buckingham and R.E.M. Not so sure about Stevie Nicks. The proof will be in the pudding, as it were.

Here are the ones I'm looking forward to:

1.) Stevie Nicks - "In Your Dreams" - most excited about! I think Stevie sounds terrific on "Secret Love" and can't wait to hear the rest of the album.

2.) Roxette - "Charm School" - also really excited about... It's their first new studio album in 10 years, and I am excited to hear Marie Fredriksson's voice on the album. I have heard her since her battle with her brain tumor passed, but her voice has slowly been regaining strength over the past few years... and with studio magic and always superb production from Mr. Gessle and his cohorts, I have high expectations. Much like Stevie, for quite a few years, it was assumed there would never be a new Roxette album.

3.) Lindsey Buckinghams - "?" - can't wait to see what he's come up with this time!

4.) Rush - "Clockwork Angels" - they are going back in the studio to finish a couple more songs, but they've been working on this one for awhile from what I've read... should be interesting.

5.) Sophie Ellis-Bextor - "Make A Scene" - this is another one that's been delayed for awhile... hopefully it will live up to her previous albums... I'm not a BIG lover of dance/pop stuff, but I like her voice a lot.

6.) Blackfield - "Welcome To My DNA" - anything Steven Wilson (of Porcupine Tree) does interests me.. I don't always love all of it, but I'm curious to hear this new collaboration (they've released 2 decent albums under this moniker previously that have some really nice highlights).

I'm curious... as a Rush fan, what have you thought about the Rush albums of the past 20 or so years? I was the biggest Rush fan as a kid. Totally geeked out on Neil Peart's lyrics. So... it seems that their last decent album was Presto in 1989 (or 90?), and then each album sucked more than the one that came before. I couldn't even listen to their last album; it was soooo awful. I still think they are phenomenal musicians, but the music is such drivel now.

LOL... well I actually became more of a Rush fan in recent years. I agree with you that their early albums were the best. I also did like their 80's albums quite a bit. There are a couple tracks on the last one I liked a lot, but I also agree that the overall quality of their songwriting has declined (at least for my tastes), but I find that true of a lot of progressive-related bands from that era who are still recording. I don't really know why that is...

Have you ever listened to Spock's Beard or Porcupine Tree? I don't know if you'd find them as lyrically brilliant as you did with Peart, but they both have phenomenal musicians as well and have made some interesting albums in recent years. Porcupine Tree's drummer, Gavin Harrison, is often compared to Peart where his chops are concerned... he's not always used to full effect (IMO) in the band, but he has his moments. On YouTube, there are some really cool videos of him playing... where I sit in awe and wonderment lol!

Really want Radiohead and Paul Simon. I'm excited for a LOT of new albums (LB), but I feel like it's been forever since PS's last album, and I can never not want anything new from Radiohead.

Oh and Polly Jean Harvey!!!

Do you mean a new album for 2011?
I didn't say this if anyone asks, but
she missed the boat with Endlessly.

Considered to be one of his best albums and for good
reason. This two-disc set combines Elvis Is Back with
Something For Everybody plus hit singles that
were recorded during these two sessions. The remasters
will sound superb.

Oops, almost forgot to add
Lindsey Buckingham's No More.

Ooohh! I had heard they were doing a new album but had forgotten about it! I like the title too - very old school Roxette. Do we have a release date? I'm also hoping for a tour!
