I have over 500 cds and haven't even loaded every single track off of them to itunes. Before the ipod I used to buy an album and get to know it. I miss those days. I still buy cds, but I usually dump the songs into itunes, and never get around to listening to it as a whole. It sorta feels like a waste.
I haven't listened to all of them by far but I do a TON of driving and my iPod is constantly on shuffle. If I don't recall a song that pops up, I make myself listen to it so I get a better understanding of the full contents of my iTunes library.

I miss the days of CDs and LPs, too.

Right now, 3,679. It's growing daily though. It seems every time I get to over 3,000, my iPod dies and I have to start over and I somehow lose a good bunch every time, but I've been okay for awhile with this one, knock wood. It's 80gb and almost full because besides the music, I currently have a 66 episode video podcast and about six seasons of ER on it.

Yeah I ripped most of mine to an external... But I still miss the jewel cases/artwork. I will actually get up from the PC at times and go my "CD rack" (that no longer exists) to check something.

as of right now, i have

1548

songs/music videos in my itunes. I have all of it on my iPod, but only like maybe 416 on my iPhone...as I have both, I only put the BEST on the iPhone [its more for emergency music situations than every day listening IMO.]

I also have a bunch of vids...

you guys with 2000+ songs, its quite impressive

4341 songs....
I think I need to go through and delete some that I don't like. It's annoying when my ipod is on shuffle and always ends up playing the same songs that I dislike, so I'm constantly skipping them.

I just untick the ones I don't want in itunes. That way they are still there if I ever want to add them back. No need to delete them

I used to have around 2,800 on, but then my laptop crashed and my iPod broke so I couldn't even use Touch Copy to get them onto my iTunes on my old computer. But, I got my laptop back and now I have 522 songs. I hate having so few songs in comparison to what I had, as I'm missing some of my favourites.

I have several Mp3 players with a handful of music of Stevie/FM plus country tunes from the Sweethearts of the Rodeo. and some others. Also I have been recording Casey Kasems American Top 40 from the 70s and 80 and playing them back at work.
btw its nice to go back in time listening the those old countdown show and hearing Stevie/FM and other favorite songs are doing on the Billboard charts.btw I have all my music backed up on 2 external drives,I dont trust the Ipod or a standard mp3 player
to hold my entire music collection on it.On one time my Wal-Mart special Vr3 player crapped out and I lost a Stevies Live performance, but i was lucky to have a backup on cd in my archives. My suggestion,be wise ,backup all of you tunes on cdrs. dvds or on a outboard drive.I know people that lost their entire music collection, photos of lost love ones, and important business transactions on their main computer harddrives, and one person had to hire a data recovery firm for $1500.oo to recover their data from a dead harddrive. and lucky they got all of their data back. All those numbers of somgs on all of your music players blew my mind , anyway for petes sake please backup all your tunes.

I used to always back my iTunes up onto DVDs, and a lapse is what led to me losing so many songs. So yeah, great advice.
