Yes, it is a great thing.

Maybe that aged look and even the gothic photo fit the album's original title: Yesterday's Gone. That bit of news, to me, was revealed in this very Q interview. My favorite part of the interview:

Lindsey on being told that Stevie and Mick were having an affair:

Quote:
"They made a big production of coming over to my house, the two of them," he recounts. "'Lindsey, we're seeing each other'... Yeah? So? That's it? There were other things that bothered me about being around Stevie way more than that. I'd already let go of the fact that she was sleeping with other people... It was just one of those things where there was an environment of promiscuity and they got their rocks off for a short period of time and then got bored. That's the way I see it."
Now, I'd have a few follow up questions that this journalist apparently didn't ask! One of them being: WHAT was it that bothered Lindsey about being around Stevie more than her packing up, shacking up with other guys?

Imagine paying $1000 to hear "Don't Dream It's Over" instead of "Go Your Own Way"

Fleetwood Mac helped me through a time of heartbreak. 12 years later, they broke my heart.

Thank god. Looking at his stick legs in the 70's made me want to tie him down and force feed him burgers for a week.

Is there any way you could post the whole interview or a link to it?

Thanks!!

Who is on the cover? Looks like I'll be making a trip to Barnes & Noble.

Noel Gallagher from Oasis is on the cover. I looked for it today but the May issue is still on the stands here.

Yeah, it usually takes them until nearly the end of the month to get that month's issue on the shelves here.

Yeah, when I saw it I didn't know anything about Stevie and Mick. I had the Tusk album first. Liked all the pictures inside. Went back and got the White album and Rumours. Saw the Rumours cover and thought it was horrible and promptly hid it away, hoping I'd never have to see it again, but society keeps pushing it on me.

Sniff. I don't feel so all alone anymore;-)

Yay!

That Lindsey quote is interesting. I thought Mick told him by himself. I didn't know it was a two-person production.
They all keep changing their stories around.

And by the time Lindsey was told, it was almost over, anyway, right?
Maybe the fact that he didn't seem to care took away all the allure. (That, or the fact that Mick looked like he washed his hair about once every six weeks back then).

Maybe it's the Stevie-Mick thing that I learned about later in life and never truly could wrap my brain around. Or maybe I'm just weird. Which is probably the best explanation;-)

I like the Rumours cover. On the other hand, this one gives me the willies:

and I PRAY there are no outtakes for it!

I hate the pictures from that photoshoot. Every last one of them.

The top hat, the ballet poses, the click-clacks Mick is wearing, the bizarre Rasputin look he's sporting. Everything.

Although, now that I'm looking at it, this one is slightly better because Stevie looks like she's about to hurl that crystal ball right in the direction of Mick's previous collection of circular stuff, and that adds a fun element.

There. I feel so much better now;-)
Now that is the most brilliant, humorous post I've read over here in ages.

It's even more frightening in full size. I forgot I had it and nearly jumped out of my skin when I was flipping through my albums.

I wonder what it was that made Stevie want to work with Lindsey again, since apparently she'd "vowed to never work with him again."

Thanks for scanning those, Shel.

I wonder whether "Never Going Back Again" & "Silver Springs" were both about the same situation -- some girl Lindsey dated on the road in 1975 or so.

Checking my tour dates for '75, I see only the Landover show in October & an earlier Landover show in August (which might be an erroneous listing). It's a sobering thought to think that that video we have is the same town Stevie walked in on Lindsey & new girlfriend in a hotel room!
