Honestly, there are about 6 songs on the GOS album that he should always perform on his solo tour, but I know he won't. He will probably only revisit a couple of them. But Gift of Screws, the song, should definitely be one of those two that make the cut.

As for a favorite song of his, I don't have one. But if I was making any kind of list, definitely Time Bomb Town would be on it.

I agree! I would vote Love Runs Deeper and Gift of Screws to make the cut for the next tour. But he should honestly do: RPTF, LRD, DYMM, Underground, Wait for You, GOS, and Great Day for every tour! haha! The rest should all be Cradle songs.

He owes us some Cradle. After we asked him specifically, he just threw us a Don't Look Down bone.

Wait, now we're doing honorable mentions? Okay everything but Law & Order excepting Trouble.

Back slowly away awaiting to be attacked by rabid Law & Order fans.

Lindsey does owe us more OOTC. One day I will hear Soul Drifter live (not betting on Countdown, since I have one performance of him playing it live).

TrueFaith77 · #23 06-01-2009, 12:53 PM

In no particular order:

"Trouble"
"Holiday Road"
"Go Insane"
"Countdown"
"Shut Us Down" (live)
"Cast Away Dreams" (live)
"The Right Place To Fade"

macpai · #24 06-01-2009, 01:51 PM

Which version of each would you say you like the best?

I have such affinity and memories for the original Trouble, so as much as I love still hearing it in setlists, I'll go for the original.

As much as I loved the original Go Insane and liked the revised version, I think the current Mac Go Insane is somewhere in the middle and just perfect.

*I* do!

That's #1 for me.

Plus (in somewhat chronological order)

Bwana
Trouble (orig studio version)
Shadow Of The West
Holiday Road
Dancing Across The USA
Go Insane
Play In The Rain (both...why they didn't just make it one long track for the CD boggles the mind)
Loving Cup
DW Suite
On The Wrong Side
Big Yellow Taxi (his Joni Mitchell cover...awesome!)
Peacekeeper (solo version)
Bleed To Love Her (orig GOS version)
Murrow Turning Over In His Grave (orig GOS version)
Steal Your Heart Away (Best Buy disc version)
She Smiled Sweetly
The Singer Not The Song
Gotta Get Away (actually...ALL of his Rolling Stones covers)
Under The Skin
Show You How
Castaway Dreams
Try For The Sun
Down On Rodeo
Great Day
Gift Of Screws
Wait For You
Right Place To Fade
Bel Air Rain

Yes, that is nice. I wish it had exposure somewhere, so that more could hear it.

A Satisfied Mind and Bwana are my favorites, but I really could just copy and paste the Law and Order track listing and be done with it. Ratatata.

LukeA · #29 06-03-2009, 02:11 AM

But for two or three songs, Out of The Cradle is one big gigantic steaming pile. A few additional songs sound decent live, but the rest is just overbaked dreck. There's a reason why its STILL his biggest commercial failure, folks.

Gift Of Screws is an excellent collection of songs. Go Insane, Law & Order, and Under the Skin- in that order (Lindsey monkeyed with some of the UTS songs unnecessarily)

Wow. Never mind that OOTC seems to be most Lindsey fans favorite album. In fact at his last Chicago solo show they were sold out of signed OOTC CD's, but still had the rest of them. Big giganitc steaming pile, indeed.
