I hope so... Course there's lots of people doing the same as me so I may not be able to get front row again. I'd be happy with anything in the first 10 rows now. Maybe I should just try going to Vegas again, My husband and I had a blast there when we saw Stevie there a few years ago. Thanks again for your words of encouragement Angel ![]()

It doesn't surprise me one bit this show was canceled. The Mac played in Greenville SC, Charlotte NC, and Greensboro NC during the Say You Will tour, but they were all during completely different legs of the tour (like 6 months apart each). Playing Charlotte and Greensboro back to back just doesn't make sense. I agree, they could have done Raleigh and Charlotte instead, that would have made much more sense. The people in Greensboro/Winston-Salem/High Point could have split themselves between Charlotte and Raleigh. I think this tour is going to end up sobering the band very much... they aren't having anywhere near the selling power of even Say You Will, which was just 6 years ago.
I am sorry to hear you lost your great ticket, Wendy. I've decided to go for cheap seats in Charlotte, so at least I won't be your competition for front row . |

I agree Louie.. I hope this will sober them like you say but I doubt it. I'm almost kind of mad at them and disallusioned You know, I'm not rich... I have two kids, a husband that just had back surgery 6 weeks ago and is out of work so money is really tight for us right now. I saved up a long time for those tickets. My Mac/Stevie thing is the only real extravagant (sp?) thing I do for myself. I would go and sit on the lawn if they were playing at Walnut Creek in Raleigh but this was a big deal in a city an hour away and and a night out for me and my husband with our favorite band so we really wanted good seats and splurged. Maybe I can find decent seats inCharlotte. Thanks for the encouragement Louie
I feel like I know you.. I've been around as a lurker on these and other boards for many years and always enjoyed reading your posts and comments ![]()

Wendy I'm so sorry that this happened to you. I'd thought of going to that show too and pulled 8th row last night (at around midnight) but didn't buy b/c I was still thinking about going to Charlotte too.
Maybe this will be a lesson for all the bands out there that they can't keep charging astronomical prices and expect to pack a house in the middle of a recession. |

Yeah, what's been said- to everyone who lost tickets, I'm so sorry- my condolences.
As enchanted said- the Mac is one of my last few extravagances in these 'hard times', so I'm hoping Tulsa doesn't get cancelled (not to mention my wife is actually excited about this one!). The knowledgeable Luke- you know anything about Tulsa, May 3rd ticketng issues? - Spike |

I haven't posted here in eons, but thought I'd give my 2cents on this.
I was going to attend this show since I live in Greensboro, have all my life. I had not gotten tix yet, so I'll be going to Charlotte, which IMO, is a better venue anyway. I'm not at all surprised though, that this show was cancelled. Greensboro has become much too... "urban", to draw a good crowd anymore for this kind of act. I could just about guarantee you that 80% of the tickets bought for this show were from out of towners, not from people that live here. But I'll be at the Charlotte show with bells on and it'll give me a chance to have dinner with my aunt who lives there, so it's all good. I just hate it for anyone who was going to this show but can't go to Charlotte.![]()

LOL.
If you asked me a week ago, I honestly would have said definitely Orlando and probably Greensboro. But since Orlando didn't get axed today, its surely safe- especially if they're still running ads for it at the moment. I've still got a bad feeling about Omaha. A few shows are doing so poorly that they probably should get canceled, although there's no chance they will- ex. Glendale & Tacoma (each for different reasons). Both are also surely impacted by how far away they are from Phoenix & Seattle (respectively). Most of Fleetwood Mac's core demographic in the Phoenix area lives in the east valley/Scottsdale, a good 45-50 miles from Glendale (boring-ass BFE- and that's even going by the super-low Phoenix standards). And, of course, they were greedy and booked the huge Tacoma Dome instead of the moderately sized Key Arena in downtown Seattle, banking on a sizable contingent from Portland making the Saturday night trip up (NO THANKS). BUT, they'd never cancel Stevie's "hometown" show, and they're not going to cancel Vancouver's "buddy". Last edited by LukeA; 04-18-2009 at 12:36 AM.. |

![]() {{{{{{{Myself}}}}}}} ![]() {{{{{{All FM Freaks holding Greensboro tix}}}}} ![]() hugs to all of us who were looking forward to this.. i wondered when i saw the dates why they scheduled it like that.. i am from NC, it's not like the northeast, where you can drive 2 hours in any direction and see a show. there are just not enough people.. and in this economy it is such poor judgement to be charging $150 for tix and then allowing soooooooooo many to be held back for VIP/scalper/whatever you want to call it at double and quadruple that. i've bought scalp seats before, but this tour is crazy i still have my first Stevie Wild Heart ticket @ $7.50! whatever... i am just ranting now... but it does piss me off.. i was rationalizing the 5 hour drive solo from VA for 2 shows, now i am down to the one i don't even have a ticket for, Charlotte I'm thinking I might have to add Atlanta to the ticket search mania to make it worth the trip ![]() What say you Swami Luke? is Atlanta live? anyone here going there? there seems to be more tix for that... maybe 'cause it's a Tuesday... Don't stay home Wendy! I know you are dissapointed, I would be too.. actually I cried a little But you don't have to be close enough for Lindsey to spit on you to have fun! ![]() ![]() ![]() |
