We've gotta face it, this band is no longer about art... it's about money, past debt, supporting the various members spouses and children, etc.
Well I saw em in June 2003, Sept 2003 and May 2004. Thank God they brought "Sara" into the setlist, otherwise Stevie's stuff would've just been altogether dull. She just acted like she was there doing lip service to the band. Not that I dont love Stevie though...

I think yer sort of wrong about the "money" thing. If that was true, then what was Lindsey fighting so hard for to release SYW as a double CD? And front his own money to do so?

I never saw them but I have read so many reviews the past few months. It seems that everyone conveniently forgets the woman was going through menopause during that time. It was horrible on her - she discussed it in several interviews, so I'm sure a new tour she would be good to go. From what I've read of the CV tour, she's been great.

As far as the money vs. art - it's a hard call now. I could see Stevie's dilemma on the DR doc. She understood Lindsey's art side but she's also the one reminding him of his family and new house. I have to question myself how will artists make any money in the future off albums? I hate to think of never having another FM album because I agreed with Lindsey - I think they are making the best music of their career. It has matured with them and there's a lot to be said for that. IMO.

A three piece? There might be three band members, but they'll have a keyboardist, another guitarist, a percussionists, and you can bet they'll shell out for backing vocalists who can handle the girls' parts. A trio it ain't!

I was at the OPENING NIGHT of the tour (and, oddly, the closing night of the tour, as well as gig somewhere in between) and she might as well not have shown up at that first show. It was all Lindsey and John.
