I agree with what Dr. Kevorkian was doing. What's interesting is that doctors do it, all the time. It's just kept quiet. His point is, let's not keep quiet about it; let's make it legal.

And Sarah, the difference between you wanting to blow your brains out when you're 60 and assisted suicide is obvious. These people are in intolerable agony and have zero quality of life. You just don't want to become an old waste of space. Huge difference. I don't think it's so much that people care if you personally do something like this (hopefully we all won't be posting on The Ledge when we're 60, but who knows); it's more that you seemed to devalue life after a certain age in general.

I posted it because it was the thought on my mind. And I did prepare myself for a flame, because as of late, everything I've said has been twisted away from my original intent. Go on and hate, but I have every right to be defensive after everything else I've said has been twisted out of context and/or ridiculed. The basic point was that I was OKAY with the stupid-ass quiz's result that I would only live til 55, because I don't want to get elderly anyway. Christ on a cracker. And on my radio shows, I don't have to brace myself for a ridiculous barrage of smart-ass comments. I suspect it's in tone of voice that people understand what the hell I mean without going into it thinking that I'm just trying to be an asshole.

I plainly said that I didn't feel that way about old people, just based on my lifestyle, I do not wish to be in a situation where I am confined to a chair. I don't understand what's so hard to understand about that statement, but it's been confused multiple times, and it's really just starting to seem like selective hearing/reading.
