MacMan,

Thanks so much for posting these!! The Dave Aude mix is by far the best one(Tracey's is OK, think it drags on way too much at the end). Any idea when the single will be available?

I've only listened to the Dave Aude and Tracy Young mixes. I LOVE the Dave Aude mix. Very creative. I think a dance remix of this song shoudn't sound so close to the original. I like that he branched out. Tracy's mix is OK but predictable. She didn't take any chances.

Here's one more remix, thanks to Jeremy over at Seven Wonders for finding it... I think this one I like so far the best... It's track 4 or the disc.

Stand Back (Ralph Rosario Retro Club Mix)

Thanks again MacMan for posting this! I think this one stays true to the original more so than the others. I don't like the long intro, so I'm hoping it's shorter on the edit version. I still think I like the Dave Aude version the best, though I really could do without the "la la la's" at the end. Anyway, thanks again!

Otherwise you'd need WinRAR.

Meh. Dunno much about dance music, but that first Hani mix sounded like Stevie was in Super Mario Bros. Seriously, I kept imagining Princess Peach Steviefied, or the other way around. But these mixes make clear what a dynamic and unique vocalist Stevie was, so cool.

No it's the original song - it's like the last few seconds of the song that you don't hear in the original version

You can tell in the ralph rosario mix that it's real - tracy's mix sounds closely like it could have came from another song - but I believe they are both the same famous stevie wails

thanks for the mp3s MacMan, may god reward you in heaven for posting them.

i'm a true stevie fan, and i'm really into dance music too. for quite some time i've been thinking that the best solution for stevie's current recording/creative state would be a dance/electronic effort, so i was very glad to see her trying on a 3rd-in-a-row dance hit single, maybe if it'll be succesful enough, at last the right people may get the right hints.
so, once i said that, and after listening to those remixes looped on my way to work and back for two days (more than 6 hours combined), i can honestly say that i couldn't bring myself to love any of them, they are all just... wrong.

a great remix is one in which the song is being totally deconstructed, and reproduced in a whole new fashion, one that manages to give the track a new and different approach, and allows the listener to hear the song in a brand new way. take Axwell's remix to Dreams for example; that's what i call brilliance, that's a whole new Dreams to me, and a damn fun one as well.
taking a song, adding some BPMs and a few extra loops is not good remixing in my book.
the entire set sounds like Reprise were horrified by CV's sales and decided to rush a cheap and instant single. sadly, after the original stand back, and the 4 different live versions releases, to cope with such a set of new ones, i must hear something new and different in those stand backs in order to like them.
i don't.
