I know I think I posted about it in the What are yOU doing Thread....but basically I've got insanely loud neighbors and got to my tipping point this morning....I was crying, screaming etc...I was more pissed off and frazzled than I've been in a long time - that's what three days of constant noise does to me

There is..and I"m going to complain about them tomorrow. Perhaps if I have another mental breakdown in management's office they'll see that I'm seriously pissed off about these inconsiderate people.

That's what wrong with them, they're inconsiderate. OR they missed the memo that they're living in an apartment...close to lots of other people.

you have a dog right? why dont you fling some doggie doo at their windows?
I knew someone who used to put dog crap in a bag with a lit firecracker and ring the doorbell and run. the idea being when the firecracker pops, the dog poo flies everywhere.......

maybe you can plant little piles of poo here and there.....accidentally on purpose ya know......like where they walk......

howzabout this: a solution of sugar water around their doorstep to being the bugs.....

heck I dont know.....

I'm not even kidding when I say that I have honestly considered smearing dog poo on their car I just want to stay reputable when I complain to management But I've considered it!

I've also considered lobbing snowballs at their balcony....and getting up at 3am to play my bongos...toward their bedroom ceiling...I may still do that one

When I lived in an apartment, I had some rather rude and loud neighbors.
I would call security on them constantly. When that didnt work, I went to the management office and complained my head off. Finally, they moved me to another apartment in the complex and I was as happy as a clam.

Have you thought about asking the apartment manager if you can move to a different unit? Sure it's a hassle, but your peace of mind would be worth it.
Nothing is worth me losing it on New Years Day, sorry.

The apartment rules state that the only way to move to another building is if there is a problem with the apartment and you have to move to a different sized unit.

Of course when I start complaining my head off maybe they'll change their mind to get rid of me

And I know now that if I do move I want a third floor apartment!!!

Home is where you're supposed to be comfortable...where you relax etc...I'm not getting that and it's starting to tax me mentally - trust me, management is getting an earful tomorrow.

Happy New Year.

I was in Times Square last night, ringing in the New Year. I had a wonderful time! (but I won't do it again!)

I meant to tell you earlier today - you know that you can fix the broom handle holes yourself, right? It's EASY. You just need some drywall mud(spackling type stuff - a small container is about $2-3), a putty knife(or even a flat edge of cardboard would do it), and a $2 sanding block. Probably $5 total. And it might save you $100 or more, in lost deposit. Like I said, it's EASY to do.

Ooh thanks! I'm going to to that - I saw that I left holes (or dents really) and was mortified...I'll try the drywall mud...I already have a putty knife lol...Does the sanding block make it blend? That's why I didn't think to do it - I was afraid of leaving noticeable white spots all over the wall

Not really. 1 million people in one spot was pretty surreal. It was so cold, I swore by the end of the night I was getting delirious due to hypothermia.

You just need, firstly, to make sure that nothing's "hanging out" of the hole(loose drywall paper, or the drywall itself). If so, either pull that off, or poke it up inside.
Then, take the mud, with the putty knife, and spread it in the hole. DEPENDING on the size of the hole, it MIGHT take you 2 or 3 times, to get it flush with the drywall(goes to Lowe's, and tell them what you're doing, so that you get the right product....the smallest container they have should do everything you need to do). I forget what the brand name says, cuz I broke the lid on mine, and had to put it in a different container(I redo a few rental properties every year. A gallon bucket last me like three years).
After you get it all flush with the drywall, and it thoroughly dries, you take the sanding block, and simply sand it flush with the drywall. It's that easy! Of course, it needs painted......if your ceiling is white, maybe they won't notice the mud, if you sanded it good(probably not, though). ASSuming that it's flat white(most ceiling's are), flat white generic paint, at Wallyhell, is only like $6/gallon. I know, Wallyhell sucks!
You can fix this cheaply, though. It's easy.
