Lindsey seemed to be on it tonight and he he also seemed to be in a better mood. I will post the rest of my thoughts later and my so-so photos, too.

We were in the front also but over to the side, and it was obvious that the front left side facing the stage folks were more animated...but everyone on our side was enjoying the show immensely, you could tell. I didn't stand too much out of respect for those behind me who wouldn't be able to see. We were directly in front of the speakers and the sound....it was amazing. You really could hear a pin drop during some of the songs, and I second the remark about the acoustics of Town Hall. Excellent. Very small venue, and gave the entire concert a feeling of intimacy. Like sitting in a bar, with padded seats, MUCH better sound, and sober (at least what I could tell) patrons.

I got some halfway decent pics - nothing like some that have been posted, but when I figure out how to attach them, I will.

BTW, didn't see Kristin last night, but ran into Taku 3 times on the street!

Pattie, it was great meeting you!

Hey now .... I was trying to rock out, too!! I was bummed that no one would stand as well. I saw you playing his guitar! He was saying something like "c'mon, c'mon!" to you! You did a very nice job, Vanessa! While you were doing that, I got a nice view of his chest hair ... it's getting very grey!!

Lindsey wasn't nearly as interactive as he was on the SYW tour. No handshakes, no autographs last night in NYC. I was sad. I had my BN album all set to thrust at him.

Did you catch him after the show? I had to head out and catch the train so I didn't stick around.

Did you guys see the fight between one of the roadies and the guy who grabbed the setlist off the stage?

I really liked the new spins he put on the old songs (I'm So Afraid, a slower tempo TUSK) THe setlist is the same as the other shows. Totally loved his growling at the end of Holiday Road!!

Ok, so here's where the special treat came in...the encore...he did my favorite song...SAVE ME A PLACE. I have to say I went to the show with the intent of screaming "SAVe Me a Place" until Lindsey gave in (it worked for me at the SOUNDSTAGE taping!! lol). So halfway through it was really quiet and some guy yelled out "Not that Funny" (lindsey laughed) so I figured what the heck...I screamed "Save Me a Place!" And at first, he looked over at the guys and was like "Can we do this? Uh oh - THey are shaking their heads.." and he was laughing. Then, a few songs later, more people start screaming out SMAP (I was elated!!) and he said "We'll do it for the encore..." WHOOOOO!

I have to say, it was well worth the wait. It sounded AMAZING. I have some great video footage of Lindsey trying to teach the band (in like 20 seconds) how to play the song...it was hysterical. I think Neil Heywood has done the song a few times (hee hee) b/c he did a small guitar solo and Lindsey was beaming. I think they were all impressed how it came together so quickly. I'll post it to my Myspace acount or you can email me and i can send it to you ([email protected]).

ANyway, thanks for letting come out of the blue to post about a great show.

Naomi
That is an awesome story! I can't believe it. (Maybe Lindsey reads this board ) This is the kind of concerts I love. Improve baby.

Lindsey, if your reading this, WE LOVE WHEN YOU SURPRISE US WITH RARITIES AND DO IT UNREHEARSED!!!!!

Talking Just uploaded the "rehearsal" video of Save Me a PLace

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wqfzSIXqt8I

Here's my video...The audience is having fun with Lindsey as he's trying to teach Neil and Brett the harmonies. For the fleeting rehearsal that it was, the song was absolutely incredible. (That's me laughing on the video, by the way)

Hi Goldie!

I saw the end of the fight. Outside the venue security were talking about pressing charges against the guy. He apparently has 50 of them at home and needs one at every show. They were really pissed off that he jumped up on the stage to get it though. Some people do really stupid ****. Its a piece of paper!

Hi Kelly!

It got a little scary there for a minute. But I didn't want to leave until I had secured my BN album (unsigned, sigh) back into my bag. It was good to see you and Vanessa last night. Did you get a glimpse of Lindsey leaving the venue?

Danielle

Thanks for posting this! I LOVED the little rehearsal! Lindsey was trying to teach the guys the song in 10 seconds....he was teaching it so fast! I remember him saying ... "it like this .. then this ... then this" ... but singing it. I gotta see if I can play this video on this PC I'm on .. (it's not my usual one).

He seemed a lot more relaxed in NYC and even though the Falls Church crowd was loud and loving also, he seemed to appreciate that more in NYC. He was just a lot more distant in Virginia.

This was the only show I saw for UTS do you think the acoustics were superb at Town Hall? I sure did, I was blown away tonight...I'm praying a soundboard appears for this, but even a good AUD recording will probably be outstanding. Were the other shows in bigger venues? Which other shows are you going to?
I thought some guitar parts sounded a little scratchy, but overall the acoustics were good. I can't really judge since I was sitting in the front row, those are good seats if you want a good view, but usually not if you want good acoustics. FC was a lot smaller than NYC, but at least people stood up in front of the stage and rocked out a little. Not counting the people that were sitting further in the back eating dinner.
