Do you really stand behind this statement 100%?
Sure do.

There's nothing "dramatic" about it, I just think that "Why" is the best track in the Fleetwood Mac studio catalogue. Dramatic is, "OMG I can't ever imagine not being totally in love with Stevie, she has touched my life and manhandled my soul like no other, I don't think I could live without her music or her twirls!!!"

You forgot...

"I just DREAM for the day that she & Lindsey get back together romantically".

I wish fleetwood mac c. 1970 to 1974 had recorded christine's vocal like this & none of that stupid doubletracking.

It IS dramatic to be able to pick out a song from a band's catalogue as extensive as Fleetwtood Mac's and then profess that it's "the best" song in Fleetwood Mac's recording history. I would say that to anyone saying that about any F.M. song. Maybe I'm just boondoggled because I don't know how one can do that, it's impossible for me. Oh and by the way, there's nothing inherently wrong with being dramatic either--I just noticed your grand sweeping statement about Chris's song and it hit me as just that, so I had to rib you for it a bit. I make dramatic statements about my favorite things all the time---no big.

Oh, and the last part of your post is just silly and ridiculous. I guess that's just more of your priceless sarcasm?

A hyperbole is an exaggeration. I'm not exaggerating, I sincerely think "Why" is the best thing Fleetwood Mac has laid to tape.

I normally wouldn't, and in most cases if you asked me to name a single favorite song by one of my favorite artists, I'd say I couldn't possibly. But "Why" comes out way ahead of any other Mac song for me.

It wasn't sarcasm, it was straightforward silly and ridiculous.
