I think, and always have, that Mick, at some point long ago, started giving interviews, making statements-with him ASSuming that Oh Daddy was about him(or merely talking out of his ass, to sound interesting, and sell whatever crap he was peddling). I believe that he said it enough times that Chris FINALLY went along with his story.....I mean, surely Mick wouldn't lie!

Yes, you said this better than I did. My sentiments exactly.

this is really a favorite of mine as well. I have no idea how it really relates to Mick...I just don't see it, but then again I'm not as "learned" in Christine's writing or lyrics as I am Stevie's...

I think what most people think is that Mick, at the time, was the only father in the group.

Don't worry Jason...

Those of us who are "learned" in Christine's writing and lyrics have no clue how it really relates to Mick either!

I used to HATE Oh Daddy. Hated it, I used to skip it often. Slowly, it grew on me, and then I heard the reissue version. Holy cow, do I love it now. The reissue version is, by far, my favorite, but I love the song itself now, in all of its forms.

It's divine...simply!

Any Christine song built around an Organ...is an orgasmic experience for me personally!

I've never seen how it relates to Mick other than at the time he was the only father in the band. I've read somewhere that it was about Mick & Jenny when they were going through difficulties in their marriage but how the lyrics fit in with that is anyone's guess!

Oh my. I don't quite know what to say about that. I see 'organ' and 'orgasmic experience'....and really, something totally different comes to mind for me.

Ok...let me rethink that...

Any Christine song built around a B3 Organ is an orgasmic experience for me personally!
