It doesn't get any better then LAST CHRISTMAS. "All I want for Christmas" by Mariah is a distant second, because WHAM! outshines them all.

Father Christmas by The Kinks. It doesn't get any better than that.

These are pretty cool, too.
Christmas Wrapping by The Waitresses
2000 Miles by The Pretenders
It's Christmas (Baby, Please Come Home) by U2
Oi to the World by No Doubt (Gwen Stefani before she sold out)
Fairytale of New York by The Pogues
Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas by The Pretenders
Christmas All Over Again by Tom Petty & company
Merry Christmas (I Don't Wanna Fight) by The Ramones
Happy Xmas (War is Over) by John Lennon
Do They Know it's Christmas? by Band Aid (I was obsessed with this when I was a kid)
Christmas in Hollis by Run DMC
Merry Christmas Darling by The Carpenters

I hate Christmas, but I like some of the songs. Especially when they're a bit messed up. Ergo, Father Christmas, Oi to the World, Fairytale, etc.

Traditional

The Coventry Carol
O Holy Night
O Come All Ye Faithful
Joy to the World

Contemporary

Peace on Earth - U2
Do they Know It's Christmas (Bite me)
2000 Miles - The Pretenders
Now the Bells Ring - Rita MacNeil

And a special menton to River by Joni Mitchell. Not truly a Christmas song, but it always sounds very Christmasy and sad to me because of the Jingle Bells "sample" and the whole ice skating theme..

haha, word to that. That song is love, and I don't mean the horrible 2004 remake.

Do They Know It's Christmas? - Band Aid
Grown-Up Christmas List - Amy Grant/Kelly Clarkson
Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree - Brenda Lee
All I Want For Christmas Is You - Mariah Carey
Hey Santa - Carnie & Wendy Wilson

there's more, but I can't think of them right now.

Cool Easy...

"No Presents for Christmas" by King Diamond...Nuthin' makes me have a tear in my eye like a somewhat Satanic singer doing a Christmas song.

ITA. It's that NOTE, the amazing high note at the end that gets me. Kelly Clarkson's version is good too. My all time fave Christmas tune by far.

Happy Christmas (War Is Over)- John Lennon or Melissa Etheridge

Bob Seger - Little Drummer Boy

Eagles or Bon Jovi - Please Come Home For Christmas (or whatever it's called.)

I'm suprised no one has mentioned "Merry Christmas everybody" from Slade.
Not many people here from the UK I guess.
But one of my favorites for a long time.
