tru...but I think David Lee gave the band more personality onstage. I think they were "heavier" with David Lee too. The first couple of albums were guitar rock/hard rock gems. With "Van Hagar"....they wrote better songs though.

Watching a video, no matter how lame, will not change how good a song is.

I think it was too much personality. Roth went nowhere without Van Halen. I have heard his solo albums back in the day. Uh, no. Van Halen continued on quite nicely without him and with Hagar. A lot of this has to do with Eddie.

That's all well and fine (actually I can't stand that song) but I was talking about S.H.'s cool factor and imo, NOONE can look cool posturing in a bright yellow jumpsuit bouncing off walls in a fake courtroom. Sorry, but it's no bueno.

Aerosmith.

I've never been able to get into the other two. Though Big Balls does crack me up. My BF is big into Van Halen and he can't understand why I don't like them. Ehh.

Van Halen with Roth were GREAT, after that they made music with those two singers that actually took themselves way too seriously. Roth always had his tongue firmly in his cheek even during his most macho moments.

AC/DC have been solid for over 30 years now, doing their goof-rock schtick (which I can't take all seriously and I believe it isn't meant to be taken seriously anyway) to near-perfection. So they're my choice.
I'm 100% with you on this one. I might add: AC/DC are still great but not so out of this world as they were with Bon Scott. He really screamed Soul. Angus is my second favorite guitarist of all time. That guy can play with tremendous feel while pushing distortion and volume over the edge. Incredible.

So my choice is easily for ac/dc. Rock'n'roll pur sang

yeah. I'm gagging with you. Do you guys know by the way that Alex and Eddie Van Halen are from Nijmegen, the netherlands? And that Angus Young lives in Aalten, The Netherlands for decades now? A very small peasant town in the middle of nowhere.

I promised myself I wouldn't be surprised or upset when this happened, as I knew it would. Just take deep breaths.

The only track from Aerosmith that I like is the one with Run DMC. The rest sounds all the same to me.
