I hated my microeconomics class..but I also had an 80 year old professor who talked VERY slow, had his pants pulled up way past his belly button, and wore the only tie I have ever seen that was straight across on the bottom, instead of going down into a V

Was it a knit tie? Those were big in the 80s.

I guess I was pretty lucky; I had a decent microeconomics professor (and class). But then again, I minored in economics, LOL.

Happy 4th, everyone!

I'm not doing much today, more work around the house and just relaxing. I'm not interested in fighting the traffic and crowd to see fireworks. I can watch 'em on TV and tune in my radio to the simulcast, but I doubt I'll do that either.

Exactly, that is the way I feel. I can't be bothered with the crowds either. Some friends were thinking of going to see the parade in Bristol. My reaction was "are you nuts?" I don't know if they ever made it there.
Maybe I'll go and get some clam cakes and ice cream but that is about it. I didn't get invited anywhere.

Yeah - my aversion to crowds usually wins and I've just rented Saw and Kinsey lol - so I'm just going to hang at home for the rest of the day/tonight.

Fireworks are illegal here - but that hasn't stopped my ghetto-ass neighbors from lighting them - not so much a problem now - if they're still doing it at midnight, however, I won't be a happy American

Yeah, they light them here in RI, too. It happens everywhere I think. To be honest here in RI there aren't really that many places that have fireworks anymore. About 15 years ago just about every city or town had some kind of display.

I also have some great stuff to watch. i guess that is what I'll be doing later tonight.

I can't believe that fireworks are illegal in so many places. I could understand somewhere like Arizona or New Mexico, somewhere hot and dry. We have fireworks stands everywhere you turn here. We were lighting them off Saturday night with the kids, I went to bed last night, and tonight I'm taking Sara to the carnival, and we're going to watch the display in my little town.

Certain types like the non-arial fireworks are legal in CT and of course there is a store that sells them right over the RI border where they are illegal.
My friend bought a whole kit full of things. They lighted them last night. They were just glorified sparklers which I don't see anything wrong but they are still illegal here in RI.

Talking Happy ID4!!

Hope everyone has had a safe and fun day so far and have fun with any fireworks shows you see tonight!

We are going to Granbury, Texas (small town about 20 minutes away) to see some fireworks later. They also are having food, arts and crafts for sale and stuff in the downtown area.
