I turned it on for a second since my dad has it blasting downstairs and I wanted to see if it was any good. I happened to catch a commercial where they were promoting the Stevie and Don concert at the Tweeter Center. Yay!!

That song they released a little while ago, Hole In The World, or whatever it was called makes me want to jab hot pokers in my ears.

Yeah the Eagles fans say FARWELL TOUR is sort of a joke..
I think the concert is pretty good...not too many overdubs really, ive heard one of their shows broadcast live on the radio a year or so ago...and they sound good always... Chris

I saw that too. Sorry we didn't get your little joke, Don. I don't think it's very funny that you come around every year or two to the same markets & play the same songs with no new material. Even Hole in the World is 3 years old. I guess the joke IS on us since the tix keep selling. It was pretty good, but wow has Frey lost his range. I mean, we have the nerve to bitch about La Nicks' voice? Have you heard this guy lately? Sheebus. Henley's looking pretty rough (read: chubby) but still hits the notes. |

I dont care how Joe Walsh looks, he steals the show. Life's Been good is absolutely the highlight of the show. Joe is the lone sign of life on stage. Glen Fry sings the Eagles best songs like Already Gone, Heartache Tonight and Take It Easy but seriously looks dead on stage.

Those cheap bastards Henley and Frey should NEVER have fired Don Felder. He has more musical talent(technique wise) than the rest of them put together. He plays rings around Walsh. Joe is entertaining. I'll give you that. But what's up with all the slurred speech? Did drugs do that?

Wow! I wonder if this is how they talk about Our Mac over on the Eagles boards!
![]() I completely agree that without Felder, 75% of the magic is gone! The Hotel California solo used to be a rip-roaring dual between Felder and Walsh, and I about fell asleep during that part! I saw 4 shows on the Hell Freezes Over Tour, and I won't even see them once now without Felder. I am not a hard core fan, but I do love them and I am wondering if the casual fans notice how much is missing?! He was the most unobvious as far as stage presence, but I think "you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone". I suppose a lot of people feel the same way about FM now (even some people here, I know), but I guess that's what amkes me a bigger fan of FM..... Personally, I think they all look pretty good for pushing 60 (though Walsh's hair drives me nuts! He can go sit in the same corner as Bono!), and Henley's been rockin' the little gut for a long time now. I liked the new Glenn song pretty well, but I had to mute Take It Easy and Already Gone (major radio overkill...they play these two here way more than Hotel California even!). I was also surprised that in performing Take it To The Limit, they opted to lower the key and have Glenn sing it instead of having Timothy sing it. I was surprised by how good it sounded, yet it wasn't the vocal epic of the original with Randy Meisner. Their overly relaxed demeanor on stage can indeed be odd...they've been accused of "loitering on stage" since the 70's even....And do I have to even clarify that I also muted Hole In The World?! I am still too appalled by this song to even comment. I can hang on by a thread (only because I'm such a sucker for harmonies) until they follow up "There's a whole in the world tonight" with "Don't let there be a hole in the world tomorrow". My skin crawls just thinking about it! Especially since they are certainly capable of coming up with something not so hideously throw-away cheesy! Last edited by EveryHour; 06-07-2005 at 11:31 AM.. |
