Oh, what about this winner?

"Standing at the crossroads
Ooh, yeah, this is wild
Baby, it's my crossroad"

Kills me EVERY time.

And what about Affairs of the Heart? Whenever the chorus comes up, I always sing:

"Yes, it's better to have brushed and flossed
Than never to have brushed at all"

That gets on my tits like you wouldn't believe. Same with:

"Everything all around me is electric now
But I haven't burned a candle in a real long time"

EFO just grates on my nerves. Strong vocal, but those lyrics. I'm sure they could be found in my sixth grade diary.

"A huge fire was burning..."

The opening for Fire Burning. It better be a huge fire if you're gonna use the word huge to describe it! And maybe you'd just say "****! That fire is huge!" just sort of to yourself instead of opening a song with it!

That ruins the whole song.

You put it all on the li-hine"

"Ooh, and you're a victim
Phantom of the Opera
You've been everywhere
And you live in dark shadows
You do what you want to
There's no Beauty and the Beast here
NO! NO! NO! There's no Beauty and the Beast here"

Good christ, they make me weep.

That's how I feel about most of Stevie's lyrics, except I didn't keep a diary. And if I did, I wouldn't have written that crap in there....

I want to FLY through the world in a golden ball, many of the cities I never saw at all...how could you hate those lines? Oh well, to each his own.

Actually an interesting side note, I was watching an AOL interview with the lead singer and the drummer of The Killers, and Brandon (Brendon?) Flowers, the lead singer, said that he didn't like not being able to see more of the cities because they're too busy setting up and then getting ready to leave. These Sweet Girl lines popped in my head right away.

Back on track, I agree with "It hurts my self esteem. It hurts my everything. I am reeling. Ooh, it hurts my feelings," which all_the_same mentioned, as the worst lyrics Stevie has written. Also, on the Fall from Grace demo, I love the verse that goes "Falling down a crystal ball into crystal stairs, I'm doing the same things over and over..." but then ends the verse with "Going in for repairs." Ugh.
