Hardly - at least in this instance. If most people said they were at the hospital, sick, in the care of a doctor, and actually were there (as Jackson was here), a recess would be granted, etc.

Here, this Judge refused even to talk to Jackson's doctor

and ordered him to be there in an hour, which I submit in LA it is hard to cross the street in an hour

This indicates this judge is cutting Jackson no slack and certainly not giving him preferential treatment. IMO who can blame the Judge when Jackson has behaved like an ass by coming to court late, conducting a dance a thon outside of the courthouse, and dressing like a circus act in the courtroom.

I think this boy and his family are opportunistic liars and their track record proves that. I also think these parents should be imprisoned for child abuse for letting their son have a sleepover with an accused child molester.

Note - I think Jackson is guilty but that is different than lauding these leeches for IMO setting their son up for this so they could collect.

I got that vibe, too. From what I've seen of the story, I certainly wouldn't laud their "courage". The mom was a dimwit at best, an opportunistic leach at worst. And yes, I do think Michael Jackson is a child molester.

I certianly wouldn't include the kid in that statement, but hey. It's not this kids fault that he grew up with such f*ck-ups for parents, nor is it his fault for being "opportunistic" when he probably learned it from them in the first place. There's really nothing he could have done.

Perehaps - but if he is lying now on the stand - he has to share that culpability - but I agree with you in general and think this kid is messed up because of his parents.

I think that perhaps Jackson did not molest this kid and they are in it for the money - but who knows and I certainly think Jackson gave them wine, etc. Also, the brother's lying on the stand was fairly damning. In the end and afdter all of the other evidence (which is considerable on both sides), Jackson may get convicted on the booze charges alone.

I agree. He's going up the river and I think the fingerprint evidence will damn him, too.

Oh no, I didn't take it that way at all. Admittedly, I know very little about the parents. I've heard them be accused of being opportunistic but I haven't seen any of the data or anything, just sound bites. I was thinking that perhaps the defense was making it up like the OJ defense made up the "he was framed" scenario but I may be wrong. In any event, it doesn't change the fact that MJ did molest the kid, IMO. And like Diss said, his idiot parents (if that is what they are) shouldn't have any bearing on that.

Well, this kid should have been taken out of his parents care ages ago. That much is obvious. The abuse they've inflicted upon him is almost as bad as what Jackson did to him. The idea that a parent could sell their kid to someone like that is shocking to me, it makes you wonder if they're human.

AND, his "back problems" didn't prevent him from quickly spinning around 180-degrees in TWO directions to wave hello to a fan who called his name as he was "shuffling" in to the courthouse in his pajamas.

And the judge rescinded the bail revokal and arrest warrant just a bit ago...
