I also have to thank her because she had to renounce to shoot my all time favourite film, La vie et rien d'autre by Tavernier with Noiret, and the part went to Sabine Azema, my no.1 French actress, who just nailed the part .

I've yet to see L'odore del sangue but I've heard a lot about it and hopefully it will be released here (it usually takes one-two years depending on the film). I love La femme d'a cote (The Woman Next Door) and I do love Colonel Chabert and Balzac as well. I think she and Depardieu work very well together. I don't think i'm familar with Sabine Azema (i'll have to google her). What else has she been in recently??

In the last twenty years Sabine Azema has been working continously, her filmography is quite long. She's particularly versatile and can play with the same easiness dramas and comedies (she's won two Cesars, and been nominated for other four). She acted in a couple of movies with Ardant (L'Amour Ã* mort, Melò)

Among her movies I particularly love:
Un dimanche Ã* la campagne - The sun, a restless soul and great characters
Mélo - a triumph of love, betrayal and spectacular acting (by Ardant too)
La Vie et Rien D' autre I don't even have words for it. It's just perfection to me.
Smoking- No smoking - These are two different movies, in each one she plays all the four leading roles
Le Bonheur est dans le pré- Beautiful comedy with Michel Serrault
On connaît la chanson - All the characters express their feelings through songs but it's not simply a musical, very funny and deep.
La Bûche - Not a masterpiece, but there's also Emmanuelle Beart, another actress I admire
La Chambre des officiers - A very intense drama set during WWI where she shines.
Tanguy - A hilarious comedy about a couple of parents who can't get rid of an annoying 28 years old son.
Pas sur la bouche - Classic French comedy with a great cast
