Default sometimes we in CA get it right.....

here in CA, beginning Jan 1, women who have already been convicted of abuse/ murder/manslaughter of their significant others are allowed to bring in evidence of Battered Women's syndrome and have it considered in overturning a conviction or reducing a sentence...and its about stinkin time I say. Women have gotten short shrift in this country far too long.

Oh, okay. Thanks for clarifying that, Kelly.

I was appalled when she was convicted. How anyone could think she did this as a well person is beyond me.
The insanity defense is real. I've worked with people who have killed while untreated for their mental illnesses and are now properly medicated. The guilt most of them feel is terrible and unexcapable. I can't imagine what Andrea Yates has to live with when she thinks about her babies and what she did.
Who knows how she feels about what she did. I wonder how her children felt when they were looking up as the person who they probably had the most trust and love for in the world held them under water, one at a time, and drowned them.

that's when these things are going to be taken seriously.

Right on sistah. So, that would be never right?

Yates's husband should be horsewhipped for his negligence. It makes me so mad!!

If men had periods, they'd have a week of vacation every month.

I'm waiting for one of the guys to come on this thread and argue with our assertions.
