This is awful. Darrell was a great guitar player.

D.B. was an Originator not an imitator when it comes to guitar...The best metal guitarist to come along in years!

I was planning to see Damage Plan/Shadows Fall when they were coming back to OKC.

Thank God for that cop who went in there. Otherwise who knows how many people this guy would have harmed.

Officer Niggemeyer is a hero for killing that @#$%!@#%$@#$% before he took more innocent lives.

I dont know if it's true, Considering the source being Faux News, but it was reported the hostage that was reportedly held in a headlock by that murdering sack of **** was Darrell's older brother Vinnie Paul.

Out of every horiffic event you usually find somebody that's a genuine hero.. This officer seems to be that person, although, as silly as it is, I'm sure all he feels is guilt for not being there to stop anybody getting hurt or killed at all.

If it is Vinnie Paul then he will feel like ****, most likely wishing he could swap places and let his bro live.. It's not something he's ever gonna get over...

This incident must shake up every performer in the world and yet again I find myself wondering if it could have happened in any other country on the planet and I have to say I doubt it.. Every country has it's psychos and mentally unstable individuals but in the States it's just too damn easy for one of them to get a firearm and ruin good peoples lives.... It saddens me..

R.I.P Dimebag... R.I.P John Lennon too......

I never understood why people have to kill an entertainer when all they are doing is to try to make us smile for a bit and forget how f**ked up the world is when we attend their shows/buy their music/etc.

Really disturbing is the yet to be proved statement that this murderer said he killed DBD because he broke up Pantera! Gee, What is the world f**kin' coming to if that was the case? Phil is happy in SJR (Super Joint Ritual) & the Abbotts were happy with Damageplan (I think Rex was happy in the band Down, If I remember correctly)...

More firearms per capita. The story on the shooter is that he was a dishonorably discharged Marine.

How sad. RIP Darrell.

Wonderin if my step-son knows about this. He's a huge metal fan (makes fun of my FM obsession!). I bought him a Pantera shirt before he went off to college earlier this fall...

So this psycho shot him 'cause he supposedly broke up the band? Gawd, I hope no one ever feels that way about FM...the whole damn band would be gone

I send my thoughts to the Abbott family...I cannot imagine how his brother/bandmate Vinnie is taking this

Sad...F--kin' sad!!!

ps-I'm blastin ' my Damageplan cd now...Man this just too shockin!!!
Even in this time I was shocked by this. I am really angry/sad about it. I've often been in awe by how peaceful our crowds can be in this country. This is staggeringly brutal. It's a good thing there was a police officer there because it could have been worse. That said, it was worse than anything I could imagine. Bless the families of those killed.
