Carrie's mom freaked me out a lot...and i was really freaked out when I saw this one Dirty Harry movie when i was younger. The killer left weird little dolls at the scene....*shudder* Cause it was more real-life, the creature/monster ones don't scare me much. Although i always thought it would suck to be in Freddy's sight, cause then you can't sleep, you develop a meth habit, you're life spirals downhill, etc...

Piper Laurie is pretty great in that. "Thou shall not suffer a witch to live!"

I know a Piper in Austin.

"Carrie" makes me laugh in parts, like the '70s music during the calisthenics, & Abby Bradford saying "I remember my prom..."

Now that's partially why i like it so much. I love watching things "in the future" (which is now) and tripping out on how it looked then. Like, the other day, I was watching Hawaii 5-0, i'd never seen it before, and it was actually pretty good, but it looked different, and it wasn't filmed in the quick cut style i'm used to, the characters actually had speeches, and they took their time throughout the scene for the story exposition...it just struck me as very slow and still compared to now, and i liked it. Also special guest appearance by the guy who played Detective Frank Lugar on Barney Miller was a plus Ok, off subject, sorry

Default One of my favorite quotes from Carrie is...

"I can see your dirty pillows. Everyone will."

We make jokes about that line all the time at school

Default well..i like chiliD's answer..

although i think Bush is too clueless to be scary... Cheney on the other hand..

when I was a kid, the wicked witch of the west in the "Wizard of Oz" scared the hell out of me..

as an adult, I find Kathy Bates character in "Misery" pretty frightening..

The whole family from "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" totally creeps me out to the point that I can't sleep at night.

The scene where they are all around the dinner table when they bring down "Grampa" to feed is absolutly terrifying.

My parents pointed out that the witch was just the old Maxwell House lady, and after that she wasn't scary to me any more. Just seemed caffeine deprived.

Kathy B. was great. Hard to believe Roseanne turned down the part. She would have had to strip in the movie to be that scary.
