Fleetwood should do a reality show for vh1 or something, I bet it would be like nothing else in reality tv world.

I was just SURE the DVD would have extras, and that in 2004 (when a three-hour movie is placed on one side of one DVD with extras, soundtrack options, commentaries, etc.) a two-disc set would be brimming with the good stuff.
I was wrong. Phil Collins' Serious Hits Live concert was released last year on two discs with no extras. But it did have a few audio options, which can eat up bits on a disc. Do we even know if we're getting 5.1 audio? I know for a fact the discs aren't enhanced for widescreen televisions (anamorphic, like most movie releases). Both are, however, letterboxed, because they were shot on high-definition video. But because of how they were mastered onto DVD, there will be no advantage to those who have hi-def sets. This isn't all that uncommon... I can only think of a handful of examples of "classic" artists that have the "output" Fleetwood Mac does. Think about it in terms of the Rolling Stones... how long into the band's run did it take for something like "Four Flicks" to come out? How long did Beatles fans wait for "Anthology"? How long did Led Zeppelin fans wait for "DVD"? We know there's tons of archival stuff out there... and they're not just going to "give" it to us. But the flood of material over the last few years proves to me that FM wants its fans to have this stuff... just not all at once. Think about what has been released over the years from the Buckingham/Nicks line-up alone: -- All the standard albums -- The audiophile versions of LPs -- DVD-A of Rumours -- Re-issues of White Album, Tusk and Rumours -- All the solo projects -- Concerts: Tusk Doc, Mirage Tour, Tango Tour, The Dance, Live in Boston -- Solo concerts/video releases: three from Stevie, even a video release (though hard to find) from Christine in the mid-80s -- Destiny Rules DVD/doc on VH1 -- Making of Rumours documentary Stuff we already know is coming: -- DVD-A of Tusk -- DVD-A of TISL -- Lindsey's Soundstage on DVD Stuff likely to come: -- BN on CD -- Mirage and Tango remasters/bonus discs Stuff we know is out there but is uncollected: -- Rosebud documentary -- Numerous one-off videos for singles -- Coming Home special from Disney -- Behind the Music -- VH1 all access -- Too much stuff to name Yes, it's costly... but they're not gonna GIVE us this stuff. Myself, I'm happy that Fleetwood Mac is one of the most documented bands in the history of rock music, and that so much of their stuff is readily available, and that they show NO SIGNS of stopping the output, both of old material and NEW material (they all talk about doing another album). I'm thrilled! ~Jamie |

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad they cut that dud Dreams. The decision surprises me nonetheless. Perhaps they are catching a clue about how dead it is live? |

I never really thought or cared if there were extras on the concert DVD. I mean they're giving us the full concert what else could they give us. But I'll be pissed if Destiny Rules doesn't have any extra footage.

I just don't think this band is into the technology, or at least just yet, they are from the old school, I mean the really really really old school

Especially frustrating is the fact there are no bonuses on the DVD (Guess I'll eat my words now...) unlike 99.9% of all the other newly released music DVD's I have purchased within the past year (ie-Anthrax's "Music Of Mass Destruction", Queen's "Live At Wembley Stadium", Steve Vai's "Live At The Astoria London" & The Rolling Stones' "Four Flicks")... Man, Guess I am glad I purchased "Live In Boston" for only $23.00 or I would be even more disappointed! Brian j.

I understand Jamie's point and we have gotten a lot in the past few years but it's always another way to package the same old thing. Instead of releasing the VBOFM as a remastered cd with bonuses like The Eagles did with their VBO, FM decided to milk it one more time and give us the same tracks over and over again with poor quality sound and the only extras were the bonus clips to wet our appetite for SYW. Can it really be surprising that the remasters so sold poorly when a good casual fan who has most of their cds or the GH then bought the VBO double cd.... finally said no to buying the same songs once again. Does anyone remember when the Dance came out and we actually got the Best Buy cd package for free. Free new songs, free new interviews, nice packaging. Someone must have been asleep when that decision was made. |

I know people are disappointed about shows being cancelled and not rescheduled. I know you all made plans, tickets, hotels, spent money, etc.. and it is a let down. But if they are being cancelled due to an illness, there is nothing you can do to change it. Im sure the band feels badly about there schedule being changed as well. Some dates can be saved, others cant due to scheduling and timing. And before anyone asks, yes, i have experienced having a concert cancelled on me. So its not like I dont know the disappointment you are feeling. But keep in mind that if Stevie is ill, that is the real issue here, Dont we all want her to get well and be well and stay well? Tickets can be refunded, reservations can be cancelled, air fare well, thats a chance we all take, when we travel. and its also a risk we take when flying somewhere just to see a concert. Things happen, as we all know. This isnt the bands fault, this is due to an illness. Lets all say a little prayer that Stevie will feel better, but not just because you want to see her perform for you, lets pray that she feels better for her health and for everyday thereafter.

I just ordered it (which is really stupid since it will cost 25 dollars less in stores, but I really wanted the Destiny Rules Doc., which is really stupid because I recorded it onto dvd already. SO basically I am buying it because of the packaging!
They say they ship it out June 8, so do you think we will get it before the general public can buy it at the store? I am going to be mad if it takes a long time to receive it!

Not to post someone up, but I recall a certain Ledge member saying "Oh there WILL be extras on these DVDs." so much for that bull*****. I would like to see the band taking stage and maybe some cameras after the set backstage. I don't see that happening from Fleetwood Mac. What I would rather see is a DVD with "Red Rover", "Sara" and "I Know I'm Not Wrong" from the current tour leg.

Does anyone know since this IS going to be a 2 dvd set, with NO extras. Is there going to be a DTS track on it? I think I read somewhere that it wasn't even going to be 5.1? Does anyone know for sure. If it isn't in 5.1 then this is going to be a very plain dvd, even The Dance was in 5.1, and I assume with all the space on the 2 dvds they would be able to fit in a DTS track, right? A DTS track would sound AWESOME.
