According to record company release sheets, Fleetwood Mac's Soundstage performance is tentatively scheduled to be released the week of May 2nd, on CD and DVD.
On Tracy's, I mistakenly said Tuesday May 5- that Tuesday should of course actually be Tuesday May 4.

Releases are often referred to as being in something like "the week of May 2" because Soundscan weeks end on Saturdays, and the beginning of a new sales week starts on Sunday. May 2 is a Sunday- therefore with a street date of May 4, it would be considered the week of May 2.

I don't work at Warners- and I don't know anything other than the existence of the CD & DVD being (TENTATIVELY- these very likely will get pushed back) scheduled for May 4. What I'm more curious about is what configuration they'll be. My company's been experimenting a lot with CD/DVD packages- packaging an audio CD w/ a DVD. It's become a pain because we'll release two packages- one in a CD configuration (in a jewel case) and the other in an amaray package (a DVD case) of the same exact thing. If we were putting this out, I'm sure we'd do it as a combo. I don't think Warners will, though.

Totally useless information.

May 4 has got to be wrong. There's no way the DVD and CD will come out before the TV airing of the show.

Here's definitive setlist on the CD:

Eyes of the World
Peacekeeper
Say You Will
Never Going Back Again
Come
Gypsy
Say Goodbye
What's The World Coming To
Beautiful Child
Gold Dust Woman
I'm So Afraid
Tusk
Stand Back
Go Your Own Way
World Turning
Goodbye Baby

I will ask one of my trading friends who has a very reliable inside source at Warners/WEA (The source is a older sibling.)

Just like I said before, ANY major arena touring act has either released a DVD or a CD of their past tour as a document for their fans (In Paul McCartney case there was 2 separate concerts collection, With different tracklistings and a DVD).

Mine:

The Chain
Dreams
Peacekeeper
Second Hand News
Say You Will
Come
Gypsy
Big Love
Landslide
Say Goodbye
What's The World Coming To
Beautiful Child
Gold Dust Woman
I'm So Afraid
Go Your Own Way
Don't Stop
Goodbye Baby

------

There are mine - I went ahead and kept Dreams on, even though I'd much rather have NGBA, because there's no way it won't be left off. I do have hope for the absence of Rhiannon.

As for Come - YEAH!

I wouldn't mind dropping "Second Hand News" for "Rhiannon" though (which, even though it can never quite live up to those mid-70s performances, is really rocking on this tour).

So how about something like this (which also now gives Stevie & Lindsey an even amount of writing credits)....

1. The Chain
2. Eyes Of The World
3. Say You Will
4. Peacekeeper
5. Rhiannon
6. Say Goodbye
7. Gypsy
9. What's The World Coming To
10. Beautiful Child
11. Gold Dust Woman
12. Tusk
13. Stand Back
14. Go Your Own Way
15. World Turning (w/ edited drum-solo)
16. Goodbye Baby
You must include Come and I'm So Afraid, though. They both lasted almost an extra two minutes each!

I wouldn't get my hopes up for these releases. If they're put out along with PBS, PBS will probably keep them from the public for another one or two months. They usually use them to solicit donations.

Anyone on here willing to shed any lgiht on this? Mike or Hayley? You guys are the big wigs around here.

Though I'm eagarly waiting for the Fleetwood Mac soundstage to come the one I really want is Lindsey's Chicago taping. I was there and it was simply breath taking to watch. Does anyone have a clue as to when we get this?

I can't shed light on what's actually going to happen with these releases, only the generality of what happens with product similar to these in most cases.

Everyone's assuming too much about these being from the Soundstage special and associated with PBS. Just because this was filmed under the Soundstage banner doesn't mean they have the rights to distribute these videos unless the band signs off on it. Why let Soundstage and PBS distribute them when they can let Warners? I'm sure when they entered into their agreement with PBS and the concert was filmed, they knew that they would be retaining the rights to the special.

Soundstage is a relatively small potatoes show- they are by far one of the bigger acts to ever appear on the show, and their appearance was likely contingent on the fact they'd have control of the product, and would have the built-in promotion via PBS right there.

What I'm trying to say is- just because this footage is supposed to be used for a Soundstage special doesn't mean it will be EXCLUSIVE to Soundstage. It makes NO difference when PBS airs this, because FMac more than likely is in control of the DVD and audio product from the concert. The PBS airdates will have relatively little to do with when the disc will come out.

Having said that, I'm sure the 5/4 date will not stick. DVD product often gets shuffled around schedules due to production issues and relative non-importance. But this is a relatively large release, being Fleetwood Mac. Honestly, I would estimate it landing more like 5/25.

I am sure the band is watching the tape going "oh no we have to cut the strange brunette out!"

However, I was at both shows and it was amazing!

Second Hand News
Say You Will
Never Going Back Again
Come

Well... I felt that we might be in the territory of a little too much guitar soloing if we include those tracks.
"Go Your Own Way" has a blistering solo, and a few of the other tracks have nice little solos too... so I didn't think it was entirely necessary to include two songs that have 4 minute solos.

I also think that you have to actually see Lindsey performing it, to totally enjoy the live versions of "Come."
But maybe that's just me.

Everyone's lists look cool... and I see we're all pretty much of the same mind as far as the bulk of what we think should be included.
I'm certain Stevie & Lindsey will have an equal amount of songwriting credits though.
