The remix is not going to replace the album version for me, but it's definitely pretty incredible.

Now, if only someone would remix "Silver Girl"!!!
I still (perhaps stubbornly) insist that that song would be far more effective in an uptempo environment.
I actually like the lyrics to S.G. but the funky carnival tempo needs to go. It would be much better uptempo, I think.

excuse me if this sounds rude - but am I the only one who thinks this remix is complete garbage. what a piece of ****!
Jeez Louise - I couldn't even get through the whole thing. The thunder sound effects had me wincing so hard my dog thought something was wrong with me! Yikes.
I'd be willing to bet a lot of money that this is some amateur job and is certainly not endorsed by the band

I tend to agree. It's a pretty pathetic mix. The thunder is cartoonish.

Agreed! A major embarassment. I hope, pray, think and know that this is not an official thing, but something that a fan did at home. Otherwise someone surrounding Fleetwood Mac just lost his/her mind. Again.

They lost their minds ages ago. After all, Silver Girl and WISYA made it onto albums.

It's pretty obvious that it's not a professional remix, but I still think it's pretty groovy.

But then, I tend to not take as negative a view of things as many.

This reminds me of the aerobics music that leaks through the walls of the jerk and hop room at my gym. Sped up tempo, slight chipmunk quality to the vocals, and a frantic unnatural feel in general. Annoying as a car alarm. Sick and wrong.

Well, there's taking a positive look at things, then there's just closing your eyes to sheer foolishness.

Tell me, how do you not caricaturize a song about 9/11 when you put thunder in the background and give it a dance feel? Is there anything about that day that makes you want to dance?

I believe it was in my first comment that I stated how jarring it was to hear a song written in regards to September 11th, being put into a "dance" context, so I understand how you feel about that aspect.
However, I don't think it's really been that bastardized. They sped up the tempo (many fans had previously stated that they didn't care for the tempo of the original, anyway), and they added some thunder effects.
Sure, there isn't anything ingenious about this mix, but at least it's not like they've added someone chanting, "get up and dance, y'all... get up and d-d-d-d-d-d-DANCE!"

It's just been re-worked somewhat. And now that I've listened to it a few more times, my original assessment of it being a "dance" remix, is incorrect. There's nothing about it that's really conducive to dancing... it's just a faster tempo.

At any rate, I don't think it's the coolest thing ever, and I definitely don't think it's better than the album version (which I personally never felt needed improved upon)... but I do like it for what it is. While being neither negative, nor having to turn a blind eye to anything.

Thanks for the link..I love hearing Fm songs put into mixes whether they are good or not, professional or not.

I'd rather see Weird Al Yankovic spoof the song.

Well, some of you obviously feel very strongly about this, but I'm not ashamed to say I like it. Perhaps part of it is that i DISlike the album version so much, but when I heard this one, I didn't feel like getting up and dancing. I did feel that it was more enjoyable than the album mix. Perhaps you're not supposed to enjoy anything that has as its topic 911, so leaving Illume as a draggy, monotonous BLAH song makes perfect sense in that context.

Right on, Tamara

Although I'd edit it to read "I love hearing FM remixes at least once"! And suffice to say, for Illume Ibiza feat. Alvin Chipmunk, it will just be the once! lol

But anyone who has the skillz to make these things, please keep them coming ... most songs aren't about such a touchy subject and thus will lend themselves to an uptempo/thundery remix to some extent.

I heard once there's a remix of 'That's All For Everyone' floating around? How did that sound?
