I thought the box set version of tusk was actually the LP version you know the vinyl record... I think i remember hearing that version on there.... and the rest of the alternate mixes aren't too dramatic except for 'isn't is midnight' that acutally sounds much better, and 'angel' sounds a little different... 'brown eyes' sounds better too....

and you people are so wrong about 'Make Me a Mask' it is a GREAT song... Play it and listed to Incubus- 'Aqueous Transmission' those two songs go together great... great to fall asleep or relax to...

I totally agree with that statement!! I love the song, it's so wierd and different. I love the etheral tone of it. GREAT SONG!

I'm really glad I have this. I got it back in '97 from BMG music for a pretty cheap price ($20 or so) when it was no longer available in stores and cost quite a bit on Ebay. In fact, I joined BMG again just to get it for such a low price. At the time, it was probably worth it just to get Silver Springs on CD (and the live Stand Back from Tango video), though now it's on The Very Best Of FM.

I like the great pictures in the book. Even though a lot of people don't seem to care for the new songs, I like Heart of Stone, Love Shines and even Paper Doll a lot.

Naturally, in typical Mick style, several key tracks that would make an ideal or fairly complete Rumours-era compilation were left off, like Hold Me. Since they weren't going to do that, in retrospect, I'd rather have more live tracks and songs that didn't make the albums than just regurgitating the album tracks.

The main thing I would complain about is the running order. Eeek! I would say the same thing about the greatest hits album Was this when Mick decided he was going to let a computer sequence the albums for him or what?! It would be so much more enjoyable to have them in chronological order or with some kind of flow. Bad bad bad.

As far as the alternate versions go, I can't tell the difference on some of them. But, for example I like the version of Isn't It Midnight much better than the Tango version.

All in all, it's a nice thing to have.
