Yea, the Klan thing is disarming when white people do it. As for Nazi's - they have been made fun of before as la Mel Brooks and Springtime for hitler But and in general, I think Nazi's should be avoided altogether as an outfit choice. Mammy, on the other hand, is different to me because Mammy was not the one persecuting, etc., like the Nazis and the Klan. But, that is my own line to draw I guess I remember I had a Mammy hand held fan and this black girl friend of mine was like "THAT IS SO RACIST" and I was like "IT IS A FAN" - interestingly, her boyfriend, who was black, thought it was hysterical - go figure

Dave Chappelle's funniest skit ever! He protrayed a black blind white supremacist. If you haven't seen it yet, you must!

Peter Green is also Jewish--wonder how he felt about John's little hobby?

I agree. I have a good sense of humor, but some subjects are just too touchy to be considered funny.

Well, I think John is just interested in it from an historical perspective. I do not think he condones Hitler and his regime. I mean I studied it and thought it was interesting if not a fascinating study of what people will do when all hope is gone a la Germany after the treaty of Versailles, but I hated and still hate the autrocities committed by them

Interestingly, humor often is irreverent. For example, how long after 9/11 was it okay to emabrk on humor about it. I know it sounds strange, but South Park did it - and brilliantly so IMO with a goat dressed as La Nicks. So, comedianes have a fine line to walk and many do it successfully. I will never forget when Joan Rivers made her first joke about Edgar who was her husband who killed himself. She said she waited awhile before bringing him back into her act, which he had been part of for years. She said the audience would have no part of it and in fact gave her a few boos at first. Another good example was Ted Danson in black face at a comedic benefit for Whoopi Goldberg's (his girlfriend at the time) - the media crucified him - but I I and Goldberg thought it was hilarious. So, I guess it is all subjective.

I hope not! It is true, however, that for many years prejudice against Jews was unfortunately more prevalent and almost acceptable (not to say there still isn't some today!)...FWIW in my little john/chris story, the anecdote where Pete made that really rude comment onstage about John's relationship w/ Chris, John's response was said to have been "You f***ing Jew!" Even Chris in an interview once described Peter as a "cocky little Jewboy". yeesh. But then again, when those comments were made, it was a different time.. hopefully in today's more PC environment, they'd never say such things....??

I think I may have seen that...and I love the skit with the Niggar family. When he runs in and just blurts it out and then runs back out. BWAHAHA!!

I have a sick sense of humour and don't get offended too easily, but everyone is different and you have to be careful.

My favorite is "Stinky the Grump."

I don't believe your papy
He may be rich, but he ain't happy
He tells you about work and how you want to be him
But when was the last time you got to see him

He works, but why
So you can go out and buy
A bunch of ***** that you don't need
Driven by your punk-@$$ hopes and greed
That's why I say f***-it

For the first time in my life I'm finally free
No mansion for me
I say f***-it
No brand new Humvee
I say f***-it
"But you'll get no p*$$y"
F***-it

What you don't understand
Is that I make love to my hand
So I don't need you honey
I can beat my d**k like it owes me money
F***-it

Ummm...is anyone else freaked out by this? John McVie gets giddy over Third Reich memorabilia and riding in Hitler's train car? Sorry, this does nothing for me. I don't even think it's cute.
