Why don't you quote back to me an instance in which I said that? Go ahead, find the post in which I said it's not OK for Stevie to release songs that were intended for a solo CD. If you weren't talking out of your ass, you might even know that whenever I've complained about Stevie's choices of songs for FM in the past I said that she kept the better songs for her solo records.

I have no problem with Stevie using songs she might have intended for a solo record in a Fleetwood Mac CD. And in fact, I complained when Lindsey decided to use his solo songs for Fleetwood Mac because, frankly, I thought Stevie would drag down the quality of the record. Seeing the results, I stand by that.

what is the problem with taking a son g she wrote and wanting to have it see the light of day, this i dont understand, its her song, its her group, do all her songs have to have the year 2002 on them. thats crazy,

You've seen me criticize Stevie for doing covers? Let's see the quote. Because, man, I know I'm getting older, but I don't remember EVER picking on Stevie for doing covers. I love covers. I think often when an artist covers someone else's song, they bring new life and freshness to something you're used to hearing in a different way. It can be quite wonderful, actually.

As a longtime lurker I am used to carne's usual lindsey blowjobbing but this is a just ridiculous. All she did was put BG vocals on a few of his tracks. They don't sound much different. After hearing her demos on the doc. and loving the demo versions of Smile at You and Running Through the Garden I would say that you ( that is I, YOU, ME, HE, SHE pick your person and tense ) could make a case that lindsey brought stevies songs down

"I thought Stevie would drag down the quality of the record," meaning the whole CD. I see how the statement was somewhat ambiguous, but I wasn't referring to Stevie ruining Lindsey's songs. I don't think that's what happened, though I admit Peacekeeper was a lot better before it was re-recorded with her vocals.

I adore Stevie, you can ask anybody at this board, HOWEVER...I would have to say the quality was slightly botched on some of Lindsey's songs. I've learned to define the difference between loyalty and quality, and if one is truly loyal they'll give credit where credit is due. Listening to the pre-released Lindsey versions and then to the new cuts I wouldn't call her new vocals un-welcome as much as, well,... out of place.
Artistic integrity shouldn't be compromised as to define a so-obviously Lindsey track, a 'Fleetwood Mac' track with the simple addition of Stevie vocals, to be quite honest it wasn't cohesive enough for me.

And LOL... Take it easy on Carne. He's a brilliant poster with a different take is all and he creates dialogue. Which is what I like to do, just about other subjects Besides, I've grown up a lot, got a wider perspective. Her added vocals are 'shotty' at best sometimes in comparison to the first version of the song...IMHO.

I agree. Personally, I think that all four of them in that documentary were mostly walking on eggshells around one another, John least of all. But none of them appeared to be speaking his mind completely & honestly for fear of offending another or pissing off another.
