WBCN Boston on 1/12/76. The very beginnings of FM with its new lineup, featuring Buckingham & Nicks. Taken from a 1/4 inch reel-to-reel tape with Cool Edit Pro, wavs converted directly to .shn with mkwACT.

Notes: Really nice show from the Say You Will Tour
apparently recorded with an Assisted Listening
Device. The sound is such that you can hear Lindsey
plugging in his guitar a few times. Sorry that this is a
CDR source. The show was given to me as a gift
purportedly as silver CDs but they're just clever knockoffs
(the gift giver is not hip to the subterfuge of the underground).
Still, the sound and show are outstanding, so I thought
I'd put this out there since I have not seen it shared here.
Do not encode to mp3 or sell, but trade freely and enjoy.

This is all an interesting debate, and I can see both sides. I think we must remember the difference between someone who posts downloads and someone who trades - they are completely separate entities with seperate audiences who put the material to different purposes. David is not encouraging anyone to trade lower quality materials.

Yes, it was questionable behavior to go against the expressed wishes of the sharer. However, as I downloaded the "Who's the New Girl" show off of EZtree today, I noticed that user also posted that he did not want the show converted to MP3. That show has been circulating for years in MP3 format - so what's going on here? Shall we police sites who post that show from now on and try to figure out if they have used the bittorrent as the source and, if so, should we lambaste them for going against the sharer's wishes? It starts getting ridiculous.

If I were David, I would lay off posting bittorrent tracks that request the downloader not to post them as MP3, just to be considerate to the sharer. However, I can't universally condemn him when he's not trying to pass the songs off as higher quality material, just allowing people who don't care about such things access to the show.

If all you're worried about is the quality of shows, make sure you trade with people who meet those standards. Leave the MP3 downloaders alone. JMHO.

Well the 2001 tour is mt favorite and I see you have quite a bit on your site. I am probably going to request some on easytree this week. What would be your reccomendations? What are the best shows, setlist, sound, audience, ect?
right now the only 2001 shows I have..

5/2?/01 Chicago, IL (Opening Night For Chicago)
9/??/01 Dublin, IRE (The radio brodcast show)
10/29/01 New York City, NY

Most of those shows are not that great.. they're good, not A+

These 1989 shows are the best U2 shows IMHO, Especially the Dec.31 show...Which is unreal.
