Caitlin, it would be best to just drop it. Unfortunately, for some this board is a referesher in ENG 101 when in actuality the majority could well use a refresher in the 900 series or perhaps PSYCH 100. This was/is to be a "positive" thread but it certainly has turned. While some could probably have expressed themselves better in their annoyance of your spelling/grammatical skills, you shouldn't take it personally (

this reminds me of that scene from Mean Girls where the one girl gets up to express her "pain" and says "I wish I could make cookies of rainbows and sunshine and we'd all be friends" (or something like that) and it turns out she graduated like 10 years ago and didn't even go to the school.

Okay.........I REALLY like it when people spell things correctly. It gives me faith that the world isn't a bunch of idiots.

I was thinking, probably a ton of the younger generation will be typing in a similar fashion because of texting, and they grew up with computers, and like that - regardless if they are smart and good spellers. I know for myself, it would actually take me longer to try to type that way, I've tried and it's hard to spell wrong and shorten words and things. But technically, that way does use less letters...

enchantedstevie- Honestly, I wouldn't have said anything about the spelling if it was a once-in-awhile thing. But it isn't. You do that EVERY SINGLE TIME you use that particular word. It drives me batty. And really, even if you are typing quickly, how difficult is it to press one more key? Seriously?

There's a middle ground between being nice and namby pamby, and being an outright bully for no reason, or just because it makes you feel good. Sheesh, go shoot a bunny or something. Making fun of other people in a cruel way doesn't make you look like a better person in comparison. And if it makes you feel like a better person, I'm sad for you.
Also, it sucks for you to dump your crap in the positive thread - but that's my opinion, I'm not the threadjack police, so whatev.
