Once again, , I just now saw this one as well. I hope you will forgive me. I'm honored that you asked me a question.

Alison is great! She is like me wishing the school year would end. The students and us need a break for awhile. She is still Beatles crazy as ever!!!!!!! I'm surprise you guys aren't trading something right now. She has some new things, because she just did some big, overseas trade. You might want to email her.

On that note, I wanted to thank you for the CD that you sent me when you guys did your last trade! That was extremely, extremely sweet of you to do. The downside is, when she got it, it was cracked. Hey, you get one million, gold stars from me anyway. It is the thought that counts.

never had that happen before with a trade, First time I ever heard a disc being destroyed/damaged thanks in part to the US Postal Service...Oh well, Next time I trade with Alison I will send another copy.

I have cut back on trading due to illness (See some of my earlier posts in this thread) at this time.

Only thing I am doing as of late is building onto my official cd collection-Just added the following discs today:

"Double Live"-Yngwie J. Malmsteen
"Metal Works '73-'93"-Judas Priest
"One Night Only"-Thin Lizzy
"Somewhere Out in Space"-Gamma Ray
"Time Machine"-Joe Satriani (The artwork is now my signature)

Tell Alison I said "hello".

I truly sorry to hear about your illness. I hope you will be back on your feet and 100% soon. I will tell Alison you said "hello." By the way, I love Thin Lizzy and Judas Priest. Breakin the law, Breaking the law......

Brian J., did you watch the Top 40 Metal Songs of All Times on VH1Classic?

Although they're huge in the UK, T-Rex is basically only known for Bang a Gong over here in North America. Ahh, they are soooo much more than that. Marc Bolan was so young and yet such a gigantic, prolific talent. I wish you guys could all hear Electric Warrior back to front right now.

I did and thought it blew chunks...Why does EmptyVee Networks continually ridicule metal and have half-wits appear on their countdown shows to give their takes, when most wouldnt know metal if I unloaded my aluminum bat (Which has a huge metal donut weight on the barrel) across the bridge of their pompous noses.

Of course EmptyVee Networks/VH 1 Classic once again played it safe.

were ignored the same way as Thin Lizzy, Which is criminal in my eyes.

Yes, Marc Bolan had mucho talent...Sucks that ya never hear him mention at all today. Btw, I need to find some T-Rex to add to my collection of music.

Matter of fact, Here's some interesting Marc Bolan handwritten prose that ya might find interesting:

Marc Bolan: Marc's Handwritten Prose: Rockmine On-Line

http://www.rockmine.music.co.uk/Bolan/MarcBo.html

Another band that wouldve been huge had the lead singer not overdosed days before the release of their first full length album is Mother Love Bone. Yeah, they may have been from San Diego (via Seattle) but grunge they were not. MLB were equal parts Queen/T-Rex/Led Zep/Guns N Roses, And had Andrew Wood lived he would have been a "rock star" along the lines of the greats...But alas he passed away after a heroin overdose.

Trivial question-Who was Andrew Wood's former roommate? Hint-He was the singer/guitarist for a major Seattle "grunge" band.

The Partridge Family has, as you know, Brian, been criminally ignored by the rock press as well as by large sections of the audience. Their achievements in songwriting, production, arrangement & cultural influence languish . . . neglected, misunderstood, even reviled.

But I am going to change all that.

Hell yeah. That may have been one of my first albums, too. I think I actually won the cassette at a carnival game on the boardwalk, down the shore somewhere in New Jersey.

My musical tastes have not come that far, though, The Sign still rules.

Mine was Styx - Mr. Roboto (dad bought it for my bro & me.) Wham! Make It Big was the first album just for me. Then my brother scratched it. Bastard.
My first album was Elton John's Greatest Hits, Xmas 4th grade. I remember my first five albums really well, as I used to lay them out and gaze at them, and cream of the collection growing, until I could no longer easily count. These were all purchased in 5th grade:
2. Kiss "Destroyer" (wanted that power ballad, "Beth")
3. ELO "New World Record"
4. Fleetwood Mac "Rumours"
5. Steve Miller Band "Book of Dreams"

Jyqm Do you remember the first song you played on the air?

I always started my show with a television theme song. I think the one I played on my first show was The Mary Tyler Moore Show, although I don't really remember. But I definitely remember that the first song after that was William Shatner, "Common People."

Yeah, I know, my show was pretty awesome.

But T-Rex songs are ever increasingly finding their way into TV commercials...first it was "20th Century Boy" and now "Bang A Gong"...I'm surprised that Chrysler hasn't picked up on "Jeepster" yet.

The first album I ever received was Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. The first album I ever purchased with my own money was Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young's So Far.
