Default Election day results discussion thread

For anyone interested in discussion results as they come in.

2 1/2 hours until Ohio polls close!! And 3 hours for Connecticut and Tennessee (I think). And Pennsylvania when we can put our boot in Santorum's ass.

I heard there were problems in Maryland with some alleged voter intimidation.

CNN lets you personalize a page to get results for any specific race. It's pretty informative. For instance, I had no idea that eight states had same sex marriage bans on the ballot this year. I have my races selected, and will be anxiously waiting to see how things turn out.

Virginia polls close at 7 pm EST, so only 1 hr. 15 min. until some results start coming in. I have to go out for a bit, but will check results on my cellphone. If they call the VA race for Webb, I'm having a celebration martini before I go home.

Denver has been a MESS...Dems tried to sue the city to get the polls an extension so they'd close at 9pm...it was turned down...

The lines have been crazy and they've had computer problems all day...but it's a Democratic stronghold..I'm fearful of how this will affect results

The exit polls are showing democrats are favored. But I am still leery about what that means. The HBO documentary about hacking voting machines was very disturbing. Hopefully if the results are tampered with, it'll be a demorat fixing the results.

I stood in line for 90 minutes begining at 6:30 pm. Had no problem with the machine. It was the same type I voted on in '04.
Someone decided to make "voting centers" where you could vote anywhere in Denver County so there were no precincts like it used to be. The problem is we had 55 voting centers to accomodate 350,000 registered voters. I drove to three voting centers that were not too far from my house. the one that was a block from my house had a line wrapped around the block. I wanted to come back and grab my camera to take a picture of it because I had never seen anything like this in Denver and it was still light enough out but my daughter had it with her. The other two voting centers were just as bad if not worse. The only saving grace was a couple of nice gentlement came by a broke out their acoustic guitars and played music for us while we were in line.
The bad thing is I have to guess that many people tried to vote today but could not due to the lines and their own time restrictions.
Another thing, I'm starting not to dig our (Democrat) mayor too much. My nickname for him is Mayor Micromanager. He owns a bunch of restaurants and is starting to run our city like that.

There were problems in Virginia as well - people getting calls saying that they're registered somewhere else and if they vote they'll face federal charges...

People getting calls saying their polling places had changed.

The FBI is now investigating those...ugh. And with all the technology available elections are even MORE screwed up now than ever before...

I know. I get PA news on one of my channels and they were saying a whole slew of touch screens had the wrong dates on them, which, in turn, wouldn't take the voter's votes. They had to go to paper voting....which the newscaster said would take "days to count".

I just got back from voting, stood in line for 90 minutes. I'll have to get caught up.
